Hot! Audi: What's Next?

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
The Audi RS6 saloon is certainly looking very aggressive and a big difference and improvement on the regular A6. Going to give the M5 and BMW a few sleepless nights.
Seems like it’s gonna be a V6?

So...as far as Audi (SAIC-AUDI) is concerned, only the (perhaps very remote) possibility of a SAIC-AUDI "E6" 4 door GT EV sedan concept for Audi China 2026 in Beijing remains. The actual series production version will be officially presented sometime in 2027 according to automotive media reports.

Otherwise, it's the MEB EVO A2, Q7, Q9 and the C9 RS 6 sedan/Avant. All representing the trailing end of the Marc Lichte design era. Not so interesting, but that's just me.

Unfortunately, a SAIC-AUDI E6 GT sedan concept looks like a "no show" at this weeks Auto China in Beijing.

A pity, as I was looking forward to this. Maybe Guangzhou at the end of the year ?

Yes, the new RS 6 is DOA.

I agree.

It’s unbelievable that almost every single car company in the world produces cars nobody’s gonna buy it because they’re DOA.

It’s incredible how they ignore the wishes of their customers.

Yup. I mean look at Mercedes.. people bought CLE53s in the US and avoided the C43/C63 cause of the 4-cyl and Mercedes responded with C53/GLC53.

Audi.. let's see. Current RS 6 owners seems like at least on Reddit and Motor Talk ~90% are not interested in a V6 and hence are buying final model year or switching to BMW. Though they do seem to be open to having the RS 5 Avant in the US..

Exactly.

Here it’s the same.

The RS4/5 had V6 engines most of the time, but the RS6 was always a V8 Bi-Turbo ( with one V10 exception).

I’ll ask my dealer how many people preordered the GLC53, I am really curious about that. I guess it might be very popular.

Speaking with carsales at the launch of the 2026 RS3 Competition Limited, Audi Sport boss Rolf Michl said the next RS6 would deliver a “really, really convincing package” and not be a “copycat” of the RS5.

“In different RS6 generations, I have driven 250,000-300,000km at least. I drive a lot in a mixture now of the B10 RS5 and C8 RS6. For me, it is very obvious where the cars are separate, and this is by far, more than a question of cylinders,” he said.

“For me, the most important thing is a convincing package – I can make absolutely sure it is not a copycat, in all dimensions.

Yeah it's definitely a V6 lmao

IMHO, quite successfully removing some of the "pudge" seen on the EU-spec Sportback:

A6/S6 etron Avants are becoming increasingly popular here in northwestern Germany. Very frequently seen actually. But the Sportbacks are "nowhere". Could this have been at least a bit more successful ?

Turning the rings into sensors are so stupid.

Is that what it is? Couldn't they have given the rings some sort of texture so that we would be actually be able to see what brand this is?
Because without the logo it might as well be something Chinese.

TBH... I don't actually know 100% I was just theorizing.

But yes the flattening and plasticification of Audi rings over the past 3 years has destroyed the look. Luckily Massimo is trying to bring back the 3D rings but we won't see that until next-gen models/upcoming facelifts after 2027

I doubt it, these things are way more rectangular, and there's no way Audi has one made in the shape of their logo.
I don't know either, but I do know they could be anywhere behind that giant slab of plastic called a grille.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
