It is the cars best angle, but it's still not as unique as the A8/S8 needs to be. To like the A4/S4.

A4 looks like squeezed by two trucks on the side. This is the big difference, which makes the A8 looks great.

Actually, it is quicker some ways: 0-100 km/h, 60-100 in 4th gear, 80-120 in 5th gear...
Also, with its weight of 2096 kgs it is 166 kgs heavier than the BMW.

^DeDe, I agree with the 0-100km/h times but you have fallen into the in-gear trick that magazines always quote, the S8 has 8 gears compared to the 7 of the M5 so its hardly a level playing field.

Oh and kudos to Audi for making such a heavy beast perform as well as it does, reaching 200km/h in little over 12 seconds is something that precious few cars could achieve a few years ago never mind a luxury cruise ship and do so whilst still providing a decent amount of economy.

I think these are the best numbers for the S8 yet - tested by a Hungarian magazine, with 2 persons onboard.

• 0-100 kph: 3,8 s
• Quarter mile: 12,0 s @ 183 kph
