Audi S3 New Economic Car 2

I missed this too, congrats on your new wheels. You are quite right in noticing the benefits of awd when you up the power over fwd.

RS3 performance for a lot less dosh, though it's missing the sound track but you can't have everything.

Certainly,

I will say, for my use the sound is well judged, quiet on part throttle with a nice growl when you floor it. Sure a E46 M3 sounds a lot better, but in that case, I'll just pass him instead... ;=)

RS4 injectors have a different spray pattern to normal 2.0 TFSI ones. The stock injectors are good for around 430bhp.

The rs4 fuel valve is what your car will benefit from though.

The injectors in mine are different to what, they've seen before. Hence The switch.

RS4 injectors in. Max opening time almost halfed.

Car is utterly transformed, 3rd gear 80-120 is around the 2.6-7 mark measured 3 times.

On another note, I used to do about 30 MPG, if I drove nice and quiet on my way to work, with the new injectors in very bad weather, I saw 40...

Haha, I meant no offense, but certainly the current weather does not lend itself to RWD, no matter how good in the dry.

On another note, I've been hugely impressed by the frugality of the TFSI, this measured from stone cold over 36 kilometres commuting:
I'm sorry about the crap quality.

We are currently having a cold snap with snow in my area sitting upward of 16cm. Nothing like as bad as Scotland and north England which are experiencing 50cm and more but here it's not the weather for summer tyres and rwd. I remember just how bad my XF was, totally awful.

I will say, that for normal driving, I found my fathers E90 equipped with winter tyres quite useable, but of course not fast at all.

Our problem over here is that proper winter tyres is overkill, we usually only get snow/bad road conditions for about 2 weeks in a year (max), the expense involved generally doesn't warrant the outlay, of course if you do crash then that comment goes right out the window but if you are sensible and drive carefully then you shouldn't have any problems.

That said, if like me you live in a house with a reasonably steep driveway, then rwd nor fwd totally useless it at the moment, which is why the wife's car is sitting at the entrance to the driveway and my S4 has pride of place by the house. :D

Understood. I hate splashing out on them as well.

winter tyres will pay for themselves over the years.

You mean through less wear on the summer tyres? I've never hung on long enough to a car to wear them down. But I can see how a Revo Cupra might change that... :)

I thought it might be interesting for you guys, to see the difference between a std. 2.0 TSI, and 2 stages of big turbos:

Standard:

3076

Notice, the extra top end rev range afforded by the bigger setups, and of course the less low down torque.
