A5/S5/RS5 Audi RS5 teased for Pikes Peak Hill Climb

Audi has posted a teaser image of an RS5 that will likely compete in the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb on August 12th.
The company declined to give details, but said "we've got a surprise in store for you." Regardless, the model appears to feature a white exterior with red, grey and black body stripes.
As we have previously reported, the RS5 is equipped with a 4.2-liter V8 engine that produces 450 PS (331 kW / 444 hp) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed S tronic transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system which enables the $68,900 coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hit an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).​

On topic: When I see the lef part of the image in the OP, I can't stop thinking how Mitsubishi and now Lexus are trying to out-Audi in their own game. Still and never a match for the real deal

This trailer video from Audi makes this whole exercise look like a publicity stunt to let Americans know 'hey Audi RS is back', for heavensake it even has active cruise control. lol

I don't see this RS5 as anything other than flashy paint job which I might add I love.

But you must not forget if Audi has its single frame grill, it is to have an identity that it lacked to be a premium brand and be compared to BMW and Mercedes. Alfa Romeo and Maserati and Aston Martin have their very typical and original identity, my favorite being the "Scudetto".

Why Audi doesn't buid a special edition of the RS5. Just like production version of the RS5 Pikes Peak, or the RS5 Plus version. Hope so next generation the RS5 will get a 4.0 T engine. I can only imagine how fast the RS5 is, if it has turbo's.

Because Audi is the same stupid as BMW. The BMW M1 was BMW's first M Car. Today Audi has the R8, Mercedes the SLS AMG, and BMW has nothing. Audi was not Premium, it started become one only after the first S/RS cars and especially their new identity, thanks to single-frame grill. Everybody knows Mercedes's history and heritage, like the "Silver Arrows", the luxurious "S Classes" and such. Same goes for BMW with the M3 and the roadsters, overall very sporty daily cars. What about Audi? Nobody knows a shit, just as nobody knows how Apple started. But in reallity Audi has heritage. It was the most feared rival of the Lancia Stratos and later the turbocharged 5 inline Lancia Delta Integrale. Audi had the Quattro, with a turbocharged I5. That is Audi, and Audi should build the "Quattro Concept" with its TC I5 and Quattro AWD-system. Not some shitty "Plus", " DTM" and "GT" versions, like BMW does. What is there special about a A5/S5/RS5 DTM/PeakPikes? Nothing. The Audi Quattro should be that car. The A5/S5/RS5 is just another big coupé powered by a big engine, like the C/E Class, 4/6 Series and such.

Bring the Quattro! Not some stupid Q2 and Q4.
