Quattro/S2 Audi Quattro Concept

It would be nice if they would offer two small rear seats as an option. The Sport Quattro also had two small rear seats, so it would make sense if this new generation would do the same, even as an option. I don't really need the rear seats, but on some rare ocasions, they would come in handy.

As for its price, I wouldn't mind if they charged as much as they do for the RS5 or a bit more, if that would translate in keeping the aluminium/CF body and the weight as low as possible.

Audi Quattro Rally Teaser

The spirit is there. The concept weighs 200kg less than a TT. This car will go into production. It is a more or less a certainty IMO. Audi have gone to the trouble to develop this and the ASF development showcased in the A5 about 1.5 years ago now. CF may be replaced with plastic composite in places but it will happen. The R8 replacement possibly facelift will probably get the new 4.0T engine that will widen the gap and create space for introducing the modern Ur Quattro
Sure, most of the development might be done already. The issue though are not so much the development costs, but the production costs.

Exactly, to stay true to the concept and the original it shouldn't weight much more than the 1300kgs but to achieve this will price the car towards that of the GTS and then in my opinion be not great value for money and beyond the people who would love to own such a thing, yourself and myself included.
I tend to disagree. I'd rather see them making 3000 cars at 1,300kg for EUR 100k+ than making just another car weighing too much for its size.

The RS5 is a fat b*stard compared to this and that on it's own is brilliant!
I just had to quote this. ;)

As to the price, it would be in the ballpark of the RS5 if it won't keep the aluminum/CF body. Building the car exactly like this concept would double that price, easily.

A little bit off subject but earlier on there was some amazing pictures and real life videos of the Audi E-Tron Spyder on here. Looked absolutely amazing. Where has the thread gone?

With a CF body, it would cost even more than double. Even exotic cars like 599 or Murcilago don't have full CF body, let alone tier one supercars like 458, or Gallardo. You have to step up to hyper cars like Zonda and Enzo to get full CF body. Funny thing, I think LFA for all the dissing it takes for being too expensive is probably the cheapest car with full CF body. Of course price of CF is coming down and I think next gen of Murcilago will probably have a lot of it, but I doubt we will see a full CF sub 200k car for a long time.

Just got tomorrow's Autobild, and Audi doesn't sound that optimistic about it making it into production. They surely want to make it happen, but see problems with pedestrian safety due to the long and tall engine, and they mention that all crash and emission tests would need to be 'repeated'. Another Audi rep is cited that 'volume, costs and price is an equation with three unknowns.'

I think it might be paying homage to the original Quattro rally car, or maybe a peak into whats to come, either or its really hot looking.

Looking at the aero stuff, probably a Pikes Peak version than a WRC.

I think Audi could sell 3000 of these at prices far above an RS5. BMW sold 5700 Z8's, which had a price of 123,000 euros. And that car wasn't as advanced as this one.

Problem also it doesn't look "advanced" :D ... I think it looks like a chopped A5 which isn't a bad thing, just styling wise it might not convince people to justify any hefty price tag.

Ohhh Audi....way to go......

Dare I say it, this is 'sexy', wow.....with this and the etron concept(R4) Audi are really hitting back and saying they still know how to design cars, I hope this does not end up as a tease the way the Nuvolari concept was.....having said that the eventual A5 in hindsight was a a much better production reality.

Audi, seems to be playing around with a lot of two seater concepts lately, and I think they have found a sweet spot for themselves design wise with this type of car , R8, R4Etron Concept and Now the Ur Quattro concept.

As the SLK and Z4 are 2 seater's it will be interesting to see if Audi reposition the TT to become a strict two seater and lose the 2+2 configuration. If they do then I am very hopeful that this concept provides more than just inspiration for the the next TT or R4 as I think it may be called. As for the concepts engine, we may have the next line of RS3/4/5 engines in the making.

Now Audi take this as more than a hint, we love your sexy coupes however you need to shift some of this design talent to the next generations of A4/A6/A8 design teams.....those guys apparently need a bit more than just a new blank canvas :-)

On second thoughts, seeing as this is essentially a e-tron concept reskin with the rear designed to bring out a retro design feature of the original ur-quattro, I think Audi are giving us two positive signals, a two seater tt/r4 car is in the works and they are in reality doing a open focus group evaluation of which design theme to pursue to production. Secondly they are clearly indicating that the car will be available in both gas/petrol powered and electric only variations.

If this is the case then my vote goes with e-tron design concept for body style and the tremendous engine and wheels from the Ur-Quattro Concept - what an amazing car that would make for..............

Between bonafide Audi freaks (some of whom have that kind of income), the millionaires/billionaires with a general preference for German cars (or Audis in particular), and very wealthy people in general who can appreciate the technology on offer underneath, I think they can find 3000 buyers.
For me personally, the design is a major positive selling point. Understated, yet quietly sinister. A bit stocky perhaps, but that highlights its pared-down nature: no flab for the sake of style. I'm not a fan of the giant grille on the sedans, but it works here.

Interesting look. I see some homage to 80's Audi's buried in there, which I like.

On the other hand, I see a nice Mitsubishi or poor man's GTR in the front, and a German-ified Camaro in the sides and mostly rear.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
