At this point, really nothing more than "Maybe we'll see it-or something similar. Maybe we won't" conjecture. A fantasy provided by the high priests of the Flying Purple Spaghetti Monster Church Of Possible Cool Upcoming Automotive Shit (aka the German automotive press. In this case Autobild). Can we get an "AMEN" ?!?

Still...it's certainly "cooler" than the D5 "anti-insomnia potion" A8.

I wouldn't rule out an A9 but if there was one it would take VAG's cannibalization to new level. They seem intent to make any shape and size car available at all possible price ranges. You too broke for a Porsche Macan Turbo? Have a SQ5. Can't afford a Flying Spur, here's a Skoda Superb for at a fraction of the price.

Autobild reports:

- coming 2021
- 300kw, 400kw, and 500kw motorization. Audi wanted even more but Porsche said no.
- Audi wanted two eTron sports car but Porsche gave them only one. This one with four doors. The two-door will be exclusive for Porsche.

I believe that the car pictured above will be underpinned by a Porsche Mission E ("J1") matrix derivative. The Audi eTron 9 Sportback will reportedly be based on the similar "PPE" matrix reserved for large luxury coupe/cab, "sedoupe" and shooting brake offerings from Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
