Audi Concept C

The grille has grown on me a bit too. Very chic. I still think a wider grille or that one edit someone made of the lower grille better

Yeah I love it inside out. Fantastic proportions, stunning interior and thoroughly modern yet typical Audi of past.

I actually think this will look even better in production guise, and I sincerely hope they keep the interior as is. All those sweet buttons.

Based on the new desing languages we have seen from MB, BMW and Audi… I like this the most.

Almost exactly what I look for in a car.

The Concept C appears to be inspiring a good number of automotive illustrators. And, IMHO, that is a very good thing:

Translating this new Audi design paradigm into sedan, Avant and Sportback configurations will surely be an exciting as well as rewarding exercise.

Would not mind a future A6 to take this shape

Surely, and will be a stroke of genius.
The recently released one must have already been something like this. It's a shame they didn't find this design path earlier. This shows how difficult it is to design winners, coupled with the lack of courage to take risks that you urgently need.

the coupe concept can get away with a long front overhang because it's a MR(technically) the sedan needs a longer dash to axle and short front overhang, like the C8 A6

Without going into details of overhangs etc, the general view and use of sheet metal is what looks good in that render, revealing the potential of what is presented by the concept

Absolutely correct.

Significantly increase the prestige clearance giving the vehicle a distinctly cabin-back RWD silhouette. And maybe delete the aluminium in favor of conventional glass behind the rear doors. The sheetmetal sculpturing of the silhouette is just fine.

The surfacing and sculpturing is simply superb. Hopefully, not too much, if anything at all, will get lost in translation into future series production Audis. A massive opportunity for the brand to redeem itself from several years of stale, yawn inducing design.

Hopefully, Audi's production version will adhere to the Concept C some 95 or more percent. This has the potential of being a landmark brand builder, the super-booster shot that Audi as a brand so desperately needs. Love it. And the socalled "prestige clearance" is quite generous as well, which genuinely benefits the exterior design. If this is really an accurate indication of Audi's future design paradigm...AUDI IS BACK ! High time too. It's been a while.

Electric is DOA and so far they've said there will be no ICE version.

Hopefully they reverse course and bring out an ICE version with the i5.

I hope Audi use this design language on its saloons, it needs a total refresh that will bring some life and excitement to the brand. Another Aha moment like the TT and R8 models.

Looks superb indeed.

But like the new Mercedes grille, I wonder how it would look with a regular sized EU license plate, and not that tiny U.S spec version which neatly fits the grille as seen on this Audi.
On the Audi the plate would stick out on both sides of the grille which would look really bad. And on the MB it would be slab in the middle which also looks very bad in my head.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
