A6/S6/RS6 Audi A6 Official Press Release

I think the A3 sedan actually have the best looks of the Audi sedans, a compact strong design.

I’ve got a loaner A6 Avant at the moment, my car is having a new rear window fitted, the problem is getting one the right colour, so I’ve had this car since Friday.

It’s a 55TFSI e Avant quattro, it’s a very nice car, it feels a lot larger than mine, it’s more comfortable but as it’s not on sline suspension it rolls more. The boot is smaller, the battery takes up space, this is a big negative. The MMI interface is lot more complicated than mine, but I guess with use you would get used to it. It doesn’t appear to be a fingerprint magnet.

What will take a lot of getting used to is the steering constantly correcting, if you not precisely between the lanes it nudges you into position.

mid it wasn’t for Norwegian govt encouraging BEV’s I’d trade up, it’s a shame that a lot of good cars exist but it’s just not financially prudent to buy a car with an ICE power train anymore.

The downforce that Avant has is insane! ;)

That's very nice and agreed. I have a C7 A6 sedan, and I'm looking at a Tesla Model 3 namely due to the Norwegian government forcing EVs on the public. If it wasn't for that, I would be trading my car for a 2015-2018 S7/A7.

I bough the last C7 Avant Mollers had for sale in 2018, I love it, it’s a hard car to replace with a BEV. I’m station wagon fan, so far nobody makes a BEV wagon, we also go on a lot of car holidays, A BEV can’t match the range, the 2.0 Tdi is good solid engine, in the C7 it’s pretty quiet. I also think the 7 speed dual clutch is a much better transmission than the 8 speed auto in this car.

My S6 would say otherwise… a MASSIVE fingerprint magnet!! Plus the damn thing is a boat.. silly fast in a straight line and handles moderate corners well, but push it in the bends at speeds over 36 mph and the rear wheel steer turns wheels the same direction and you suddenly feel the mass of a thousand suns getting it around.. what puzzles me is that Porsche offers rear wheel steer for up to 50 mph… FML

That's a hot one. Looks really nice!

I have the 2013 pre-facelift, 2.0-litre tdi with 6 speed manual. It's tuned to 245hp instead of the original 177hp. It's literally the best daily/long trip car you can own, probably especially in the Avant form too.

Like you said, no EV can match A6's range. Mine does confidently 1000+km on a single tank. And you can refill it for ~70€ within 5 minutes.

Not going to mention the epic design, comfort and quality that 99% of the EVs can't match.

We also had a 2013 A6 Avant 2.0TDi with the multitronic gearbox, same as yours 177hp, that car was a mile muncher, we drove from Molde to Goteborg, drove around Goteborg for 4 days and finally refueled in Jessheim on the way home. 1300km on a tank was amazing, the newer one also 2.0tdi but 190hp can do about 1100 on a long drive, quattro is the difference.

I hope that's just some styling changes for China, because all it looks like is they changed the fascia plastic inserts and main grille design. Unless Audi is doing a mini-FL in the the same vein as B9.25 and releasing a full fledged facelift the year after.

Apprehensive that Audi designers may have "dropped the ball" on the upcoming A6 eTrons (the recently sighted camouflaged production-bodied mules look a bit..."pudgy", "porky" and generally"dodgy"), I'll just feast my eyes on the trusty yet so debonair ol' C8 A/S6:

I like the new MY 2023 A/S6 Design Edition Package. In fact, my favorite "old school" ICE Audi model line. It's amazing how fresh this car looks after over 4 years on the market.

The most interesting and beautiful of its entire line of sedans

I still think Audi styling was at its peak with B8 A4/A5/Q5 and C7 A6/A7 lines. I don't think the C8 improved on the prior generation personally.

The series I A/S/RS5 was a gem of a design with a subtle "late 1960s' U.S. muscle car vibe". As were the C7 cars, especially the series I A/S/RS7 which I've always considered one of the most visually attractive 4 door cars of all time. The current C8 series II A7s' are stylistically a bit "too busy". But I'll stick to my guns on the C8 A6/S6 models as I find them drop-dead handsome and (still) "crisp and fresh". Solely based on exterior design, I prefer them to the G30/31 BMW 5ers and W/S213 M-B E-Class.

I share the same sentiments as you! B8 4 and 5 were gorgeous. Same thing with C7 6 and 7. But for C8, the 7 went downhill for me but the 6 is perfect and crisp like you said with it's upright greenhouse and sharp body lines. Would be tough for me to choose between the C8 6 and G30 LCI.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
