Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reports that Aston Martin is interested using Lexus engines to power future models.
The LFA’s V10 is mentioned specifically, though I would be surprised to see the Yamaha-built engine in anything other than a Lexus. Also suggested is a V8, and although an exact engine isn’t specified, the best guess would be the IS F’s 416hp 5.0L .
(The two companies do have an existing relationship — Aston Martin currently sells a modified version of the Toyota iQ city car, and Toyota President Akio Toyoda & Aston Martin CEO Dr. Ulrich Bez have raced together at Nürburgring in the past.)

I like but I'm not sure. I'd still say no, Lexus/Yamaha is exclusive, to good to be shared with others. Even Lotus wanted that engine for the no-more coming Esprit, but Toyota refused, so they worked or maybe yet work on their in-house built NA 4.8l V8. I'd bet even BMW would like to get Lexus' NA 4.8l V10 for its coming supercar. Toyota can't give away what made its image.

You are absolutely right given the fact that news came out two years ago that Lotus tried very hard to get the LFA 1LR V10 so that they could use it in the Espirit, but Lexus refused at any cost to license the engine, chances are very slim that the LFA 1LR V10 would be used in any product outside the Lexus brand.

Huh?? And what agreement is that?? Mercedes as far as I know has an agreement in place with Nissan to share engines with them. I never read anything about Mercedes sharing any engines with Aston Martin.

If they did use Lexus engines I would cut off any agreement if I were Mercedes-Benz.

There was something about them using the GL for the Aston/Lagonda SUV, GL engines and all. It read something like "he admitted that there was an agreement in place for engines and the chassis from the new GL" or something like that..

I was about to saw the same thing. Sure the rumour mill has been brewing the past year or so but the pot is empty. In fact I would argue that Lexus would make a better partner than Mercedes from an exclusivity point of view. Mercedes use any given AMG power plant across a whole range of cars and it would be an ill fit for an Aston to share an engine with so many cars. Toyota have proven to have the resources to gush out some sublime and award worthy engines and could do with some good sports pedigree under their name.

I give my blessings.

I've just got an idea of (probably) the most perfect & best looking front engine (RWD) coupe out there... DB-S with LF-A's V10!!
