I have some experience with this in China. The supplier might have knowingly used inferior material to produce the said component. But there is an equal probability that they bought counterfeit du Pint material. The Asian market is filled with counterfeit materials. One has to be careful.

My staff have stopped buying SKF bearings in China because there are so many fakes on the market.
