Rapide Aston Martin Rapide Concept 2007

Wow the FS was so much more pretty but I guess things are the other way around this time.

For some reason I think this looks really neat.

I think they need to work on the wheelbase of the Rapide Concept a bit, it's just a tad too long. Perhaps they could shorten the front considerably and rework the rear so it's harder to desipher that it is infact the Rapide and not just an odd looking DB9.

Yeah, it looks like some aftermarket stretched DB9 concoction. I hate to repeat myself, but please do something about the front! At least the rear looks ever so slightly different..

Plus, I can imagine this car costing a whole bunch. Anything but the V8 Vantage are in stupendous territory, and this isn't going to be the entry level Aston.

You don't like the front Vargas? I think it's flawless and suits the car perfectly.

Great photos Siko, thank you for them.

I am now convinced that this car will compete directly against the Bentley Flying Spur - it will do serious damage to Bentley sales.

very wierd car imo.. like the interior though..:D

On the contrary Luw, I quite like it. It looks a nice as ever front the DB9. However, that's the problem - I was really hoping for an evolution of their design, rather than something that's similar perhaps to the point of being identical.

Anyhow, the overall car is nice. I like it. The interior is stunning, as usual. But what are those little bottles next to the wine glasses? Are those make-up bottles?

Those pictures are pornography. The car is simply :icondrool :icondrool :icondrool The flyingspur and Quattroporte stand no chance against this beauty.

Snake Vargas: I understans your point. I felt the same way when I saw the Flying spur, I wanted it to look different than the continental GT. The DB9 is a different story. The front of the car is so flawless and gorgeous that it simply has to be used on another car. A four door sedan really doesn't get more beautiful than this. This car is no officially the most beautiful sedan in whole world. :icondrool :icondrool

Not really, the car fails to individualize itself from its DB brothers. But it definately is a lot better than the Panamera (chops).

Absolutely!!!   This car is a pure porn indeed! Just look at the attention to detail and the materials used in interior. :icondrool :icondrool :icondrool

This is absolutely stunning! AM did it again, no car in this world stands a chance against it in terms of design!

:t-cheers:

The english design is stunning, it combines German elegance with Italian sensuality.

When a car looks that good it really doesn'tm atter wether it looks like another car in the same line up. The design ins fantastic. :usa7uh:

Wow I'm late to this thread. Before, I've never cared about the new cars that AM are coming out with because I prefered the Porsches to it anyway. But this car, wow, it's amazing. The front has always been the forte of the AMs and this car is no different. I prefer it to the Porsche. The interior, splendid... did you guys notice how the gears are the buttons on the dashboard. Haven't seen that before.

Here's the problem I have with the car. It's just the same as the Porsche Panamera (PS). The profile of this car is absolutely gorgeous, but when you get to the rear 3/4, there's something wrong with it. The Panamera PS has the EXACT same problem. Is it because the bumper seems too high? Or is the back just too round? Somebody help me, this is driving me insane!

And the other thing is... say what you want, this is not a Coupe... just like how a CLS and Panamera aren't as well. :eusa_danc

God, I just can't argue with that. In some ways it would be even more ridiculous for Aston Martin to refer to this as a coupé, considerring it is based on a true coupé in the first place - at least Bentley are not playing that stupid game with the Flying Spur.

Oh and BTW, note ridiculous does not have an E in it - everyone insists on spelling it incorrectly, it has bugged me for months....yeah go on, rip me to shreads for mentioning it :D

Ok, I won't start that whole thing with sedan vs coupe thing. So can anyone tell me what's wrong with the rear end?

And the other thing is, I've been meaning to point out how ridiculous is spelt. I've seen it on every forum I'm in and it seems like a common mistake to spell it as rediculous. Thanks Roberto for finally pulling the trigger :D

P.S: Am I the only one getting a really slow connection from GCF??

no im getting slow connection to..

PS
Something is wrong with the rear.. but i dont know what.. it looks wierd.. i cant put my finger on it

Not sure how I feel about this car until I see it in person (in 3 days!!). They've taken the best looking car in the world, the DB9 and added some extra doors without changing much else. It looks like someone else has said, like some type of aftermarket exercise. The interior is stunning if more asture than a Bentley. If they do produce this thing I hope they change some of the details so it won't look like a DB9 chop job.

That picture has bugged the hell out of me. I think it's a chess set, and see the dice on both sides. Wierd.
