1st place: Porsche Boxster S PDK (492/650 points, 75,7 %)
Brilliant performance, powerful brakes, good comfort, hyperactive boxer-engine and low fuel consumption. And the news: it's no longer expensive - at least here, in this comparison.
  • Power, torque: 315 hp, 360 Nm
  • Gearbox: 7-speed-PDK
  • Weight: 1426 kg
  • 0-100 km/h: 5,1 s
  • 0-200 km/h: 18,6 s
  • 400 m: 13,2 s
  • Vmax.: 277 km/h
  • Braking (100-0 km/h), warm: 34,4 m
  • 18 m slalom: 68,0 km/h
  • Avg. fuel consumption: 11,6 l/100 km

2nd place: Audi TT RS Roadster S-tronic (469/650 points, 72,2 %)

Old, but still a great roadster with very good quality and fantastic straightline-performance. However, it cannot hide its hatchback-origins.
  • Power, torque: 340 hp, 450 Nm
  • Gearbox: 7-speed-S-tronic
  • Weight: 1579 kg
  • 0-100 km/h: 4,5 s
  • 0-200 km/h: 17,7 s
  • 400 m: 12,8 s
  • Vmax.: 250 km/h (limited)
  • Braking (100-0 km/h), warm: 36,8 m
  • 18 m slalom: 66,2 km/h
  • Avg. fuel consumption: 12,1 l/100 km

3rd place: BMW Z4 sDrive 35is (466/650 points, 71,7 %)

Perfect for cruising and for everyday-use, but too soft for a sportscar.
  • Power, torque: 340 hp, 450 Nm
  • Gearbox: 7-speed-DKG
  • Weight: 1607 kg
  • 0-100 km/h: 5,0 s
  • 0-200 km/h: 18,2 s
  • 400 m: 13,2 s
  • Vmax.: 250 km/h (limited)
  • Braking (100-0 km/h), warm: 37,0 m
  • 18 m slalom: 64,2 km/h
  • Avg. fuel consumption: 12,4 l/100 km

4th place: Jaguar F-Type V6 S (427/650 points, 65,7 %)

The F-Type is not the best roadster, but one of the most characteristic. The suspension and the steering are great, but the car is too loud and too expensive.
  • Power, torque: 380 hp, 460 Nm
  • Gearbox: 8-speed-automatic
  • Weight: 1758 kg
  • 0-100 km/h: 5,0 s
  • 0-200 km/h: 18,9 s
  • 400 m: 13,2 s
  • Vmax.: 275 km/h
  • Braking (100-0 km/h), warm: 35,4 m
  • 18 m slalom: 65,5 km/h
  • Avg. fuel consumption: 13,3 l/100 km

I'd say Porsche, Jaguar, BMW and then Audi, for me.

The Porsche is too much of a weapon to not be your first choice, even if the F-Type is supposed to be a british muscle car. So, it's my second choice, well ahead of the Z4 which is way too soft for what it's supposed to be, and final place for the power-transferred-to-too-many-wheels TT RS.

Very close between the TT-RS and the Boxter for me. 3rd BMW ( what a freaking weird model name ) and last the Jag.

Weirder than "Tete-are-us"? :D

As for the comparison, sadly only one game in town - Boxster.

BMW for me please, closely followed by the Porsche.

Audi for the speed. Porsche for the drive. Jaguar for the looks. And BMW for everything. Z4, IMO, is the perfect all-rounder!

For me this decision would be easy, Porsche all the way. After that it gets trickier but I'd probably go Jag, BMW and Audi because I love the look of the Jag and dislike the look of the roadster TT, the Z4 is OK to look at and drive but its the least sporty here.

Z4 for the looks, Boxter for the rest. Overall a Boxter clearly. But my God the Z4 is such a beautiful car!!

BTW, I thought the Z4 was a heavy pig, but, my God.....the Jag makes it look like a featherweight...
Totally unacceptable.

Easy poll! Only two cars here I'd really consider.

Z4 looks the best out of them all and the folding hardtop is just the best, the BMW i6 is a jewel! But my money will buy mr.Perfect, the Boxter.;)

Totally unacceptable.

Why is it "totally unacceptable"? The Jag achieved a higher speed through the slalom, stopped better than the Z4, and has the same 0-100 time, so the weight certainly wasn't holding it back.

First, I'd pick the mid-engined superstar from Stuttgart, then I'd have the Porsche, closely followed by the Boxster and lastly the 981...

Funny but sad commentary about the state of the roadster market.

And thank god they didn't include the slkugly duckling!

No, sure. The weight is great Betty.

F type weight would be ok if the car had 4 seats, ample space and a folding hardtop. But it doesn't have anything like that, all it has is an ancient platform.

That wannabe SLS, yes?

Yes, you said. And my point is that it wasn't "holding it back". Do you actually want to respond to that or are you just going to keep repeating "it's overweight" without actually adding to the discussion?

You can spin it a different way. The Z4 was slower than the "unacceptably heavy Jag" through the slalom, took longer to stop and didn't beat it 0-100.

BMW ruined the Z4's suspension with the facelift even more. According to Sport Auto the new one's even softer with more bodyroll as before.

Spin? LOL, spare me this nonsense please..
The Jag has a more powerful engine compared to the BMW, but I wasn't even comparing it to the BMW, I was comparing it to the Porsche. The BMW isn't up to standard either, it has become a mini SL instead of staying a sporty little thing.
