yes accelerationnumbers (handling numbers) and their conclusions about the cars :)

BMW Z4 3.0si
265-hp
0-100 km/h = 6.4 s
0-200 km/h = 25.1 s
250 km/h max.
8.9 L / 100 km
Euros 38,900

470 / 650 Points

The Z4's engine is marvelous, and coupled with low costs and performance, makes this car the winner. The suspension is very hard though.

Porsche Cayman "Sportpaket"
245-hp
0-100 km/h = 7.0 s
0-200 km/h = 26.9 s
260 km/h max.
9.5 L / 100 km
Euros 49,735

452 / 650 Points

The 2.7-l engine seems a little lazy - and the price doesn't help either.

So let me get this straight, lower performance and fuel eficiency and a consideraably higher price tag.
What is Porsche thinking ?!

I've told you you'll be surprised when you'll see Z4 Coupe vs Cayman performance comparison results. :D

Prestige has a price.

We all know that, but Porsche like BMW are sport prestige.
If you think that everything Porsche builds can squeeze sales on prestige only, than take a look at Cayenne sales, (and the X5 isn't even out yet).

Porsche does not relu on the prestige to sell cars, but on the other hand, it has no lack of it.

I don't know for other countries, but here Porsche is more prestigious than BMW/MB/Audi.
And yes, some of the money you pay is just the prestige, but it is definitely worth it.

But it relu on it to sell their product at high prices, if you made two twin cars and you put the porsche badge on the first and BMW badge on the second, you will buy the first at a higher price.

Imhotep Evil: What is Porsche thinking ?!
Porsche always does excellent thinking. The Cayman won the award "performance car of the year 2006". ;)
The cayman models are rumored to get themselves a power increase next year when the 911 facelift is introduced. That will probably take car about all the whining.

Well porsche don't intentionally give their cars high prices. Porsche doesn't produce as many cars as BMW, Audi and MB, hence have less cars covering the fixed costs.

Mind that next generation of Z4 will be positioned even a bit higher (just like they did in the case Z3 -> Z4) to take more seriously on the Cayman / Boxster duo.

This will make a space for a possible Z2.

The competition (BMW) has upped the bar I suppose. If you want a quicker Cayman, get an S model: and pay more for it. :D

.

That was the Cayman S, no problem with that one.
And hopefully Porsche's FL will be more than just 5 HP.

As I have mentioned before the word on the street is that there won't be any S and non S models. There will one be one engine choice which will be more powerful than the current 911s to keep up with the power war and give the Boxter and Cayman a bit more space.

As for the Cayman in this test I doubt that I would ever want to buy such a brand new but slow Porsche.

245hp for Euros 49,735. Noway:eusa_hand
Well the car is quite a good for people who want superb handling but don't want to pay 50k for a 500hp+ engine. You can see the Cayman like the Miata or Mini cooper. Not that much power but lots of fun.

No doubt. 245hp Cayman is definetly not something for everybody. It will be interesting to see how many of them Porsche will sell in the near future.

Managed to scan this. My scanner is giving me some problems. And I treated it like a lady all the time. :eusa_doh:
