Hot! All kind of sales Audi / BMW / Mercedes

Latest news, trending discussions, reviews, and major updates
Looking at the figures, the failure of electric models, the 4-cylinder engines in the best-selling AMGs, and the aging compact SUVs are seen as the biggest reasons for the widening sales gap. More minor reasons include delayed model refreshes. Ola's strategic mistakes contributed to this. I expect a recovery in Mercedes sales starting in 2026. Both brands will be swept up in the winds of innovation by 2027. I anticipate a close sales battle in 2027.

Very likely that THE unit sales face-off of 2026/27 regarding the German premium manufacturers will be the BMW ix3 versus M-B GLC EQ and the BMW NKL i3 sedan versus the M-B C-Class EQ sedan. Perhaps even the face-off that will ultimately decide Ola Källenius' professional fate.

to be fair the 3er has been on sale for 7 years in it's current form and on the verge of a successor.

i think g50 will see it boost its sales

Insane statement.

The i3 and G50 will be segment leaders by a very wide margin.

It’s still a possibility.

The G60 sells well, but not because of the interior, which is 2 steps backwards compared to the predecessor which was absolutely gorgeous.

This post hits the nail on the head.

I expect the LCIs to have a much better quality regarding the interior.

Luxury Sedan Sales Are Dropping Across Europe. And There's a Reason

This makes me most sad. Almost depressed in fact.
Jeez, A4 non-existing and 3er and C-Class suffering hard decline in sales. Cannot imagine what the 5er and 7er segments will suffer.

If the trend does not change, I will not be surprissed if even MB and BMW start considering whether it makes sense to keep producing three different sedans.

People like SUVs, that’s the conclusion.

I am also beginning to ask myself whether sedans will ever make a reemergence. Case in point: The largest local Volkswagen showroom in my immediate vicinity features a number of Tiguans, T-Rocs, T-Cross and ID.4's. And really very little else. Not in the showroom, not on the lot in general. Tiguans are really ALL over the place in my region and I strongly suspect that it may be the best selling vehicle by quite some margin. And the new Skoda Elroq has made quite a huge splash as well.

I believe the fate of each sedan will rely on its value proposition to the customers. The 3er can be perceived as the sporty alternative of driving an SUV, but the A4 and the C-Class?

The C-Class stood always for comfort, lower cars can be equipped with softer suspensions because the body roll matters less than in SUVs.

The B10 A5 is being registered in relatively good numbers, but primarily as an Avant. It has more recently been one of the reasons for a reduction in C-Class and 3er registrations in the EU/UK. But that aside...I can easily imagine the upcoming BMW NA0 i3 sedan making a noticable impact. Perhaps even to the extent of giving the new, generously hyped, ix3 SUV a real run for the money in the unit sales competition.

I really can’t think of anyone in my circle that would believe me if I told them a C-Class is more comfy than a GLC. Not really sure if that’s even true.

Absolutely. But still the X1, X3/iX3 will sell more units.
Unfortunate truth of the times but you also have to wonder… when the crossover is such a good proposition for the money and does almost everything that well, why buy a compromised option like a sedan? The future will be crossovers and speciality cars like coupes and convertibles (regular cars/ super/ hyper cars) in a very small quantity for enthusiasts.

That said I am very intrigued by the iX3.. mainly because of that steering wheel (and range). What a wheel it is!!!
