33 Stradale Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 inspired Supercar

The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is a sports car manufactured by Alfa Romeo. Unveiled on August 30, 2023, the car was made available with two powertrain options, either a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged 690T V6 engine (which is a development of the engine from the Giulia Quadrifoglio) or an all-electric powertrain option.
well, i done messed up. TopGear and EVO are stating it's an evolution of QF's V6.
Lets do a full breakdown of the MC20 and the 33 and I guarantee that this is basically a rebadge, obviously this includes both engine versions (BEV, ICE), transmission, chassis, etc. Tavares, the cost cutting man, would never spent money twice especially not on a vanity supercar project. Their PR team surely was briefed to keep the 33 as much proprietary Alfa as possible.

Their PR team surely was briefed to keep the 33 as much proprietary Alfa as possible.

I've heard both Alfa Romeo and Maserati engines and a quote I pulled out of EVO Magazine said the former and was later completely changed? I proved it too!

Does it matter? Not really but I doubt they'll use an Alfa Romeo engine when a Maserati MC20 engine is already sat there in the carbon fibre monocoque. Unless that's not true either LOL!

But you know what, sometimes these manufacturers Love complications!

If the QF's V6 engine's displacement is maintained (2,891 cc) as is the Nettuno's (2,992 cc), we'll have an idea what they went with in the engine bay.

EDIT: I guess the Pre-chamber adds an overall 11cc of displacement? It looks like the GF and Nettuno share the same engine block.
Granted, article was posted in 2020, so they were speculating at the time.

They weren't speculating, the engine details were already known at the time. It's the same engine as the Alfa 2.9, just with different heads.

And, the engine in this car, which Alfa Romeo claim is a development of the Alfa 2.9, is the Nettuno engine - which indeed is a development of the Alfa 2.9, so they are completely correct!

How many more overpriced hyper cars will be unveiled this year? It feels like at least 2 are launched every month!
I guess this says it all about how the market is nowadays. There are plenty of people willing to pay these insane prices, so the manufacteurs take advantage of course.

Some of you are hard to please , Jesus.

Or you can’t appreciate art..

Many of you are bmw fans so it’s probably option 2 lmao

Well the Pagani got a lot of, well shall we say bad press, but alot changed their minds afterwards. Will it happen with this car? I don't know, but I do know it should be given time, appreciation doesn't usually come overnight.

100%, I am amazed that nothing exceeds the "quality standards" here, it seems that when some have a lot, they do not know how to appreciate anything.
This is automotive glory but it is more fun and trendy to criticize

Less than 24 hours has passed and I spent more time looking at it. I dare say, I am very close to loving it now. I think it'll look particularly fetching and very 1960s in Alfa's Verde Montreal and those gold wheels. While I am still confused about how climate and infortainment controls are accessed, I am glad there are actual toggle switches and knobs formed with what looks like real aluminum. The leather looks sumptuous. I like the 3D take on the iconic grille. All that said, I still feel like I ought to lust after it though.

The only details I am still not sold on are the front and rear lighting units. I think they ought to look more simplified as the design looks too complicated and doesn't suit what is an otherwise voluptuous design. Also, I still feel this exercise doesn't really advance Alfa's design language.

Must say the Italians lost their minds lately with design. They are producing stunners

Ferrari Daytona
Maserati MC20
Alfa 33
Mv Augusta Rush

I can't blame people for feeling cynical about this project.
Let's compare it with 8C Competizione, which is universally loved by everyone.

Just as this new 33 Stradale, 8C was also not a pure Alfa project. It was based on Maserati platform with Maserati (Ferrari) engine and developed by Dallara. Despite limited production, it still cost €200k (€288k in today's money) at a time when 430 Scuderia was about €260k (374k€ in today's money).

So history repeats itself, we have yet again Maserati tech, but the technical partner is now Carrozzeria Touring. The difference is, to justify the outrageous asking price, they have leveraged all the Alfa Romeo legacy and ties to the original Tipo 33 Stradale they could possibly find. While 8C was a fresh design, this one is another one of those retro types where salesmen can point out 100 details which call back to 1968 while the buyer makes this face :O . Did they need to reference any styling elements from famous Alfa Romeos of the past when designing the Tipo 33 in 60s? The car was so radical it didn't need any of that crap.

It's hard to be exited for a vanity project like this when the rest of the portfolio is an 8 year old sedan and two SUVs.
