New Ford Fiesta ST seem to be the right car for me, its small , light, powerful and good value. And the reviews are glowing.
But since I was a kid, I've always been against owning a Ford and I still think realibility are real bad. How realiable is a Ford?

+1 Martin, I'd rate Ford above Opal.

If passenger and boot space isn't of importance then the Fiesta would be an excellent choice.

Key difference is that the Focus brings multi-link rear suspension to the table which is big plus factor for overall composure and refinement vs. torsion beam arrangement of the Fiesta (still a great car in its own right).

Normally I would recommend the second hand alternative, but since the GTI doesn't even have an 1 year warranty, I'd go with the Astra.

hmm , I spoke to a previous owner of the latest Focus RS and he had a lot of problems with his car. He was happy to sell it. (he now drive Megane RS).

You have no steady job, so the future is uncertain. I would go for the most cost free car, which means the new and with 5 years warranty Astra.

Since your on a tight budget why don't you get a car in germany?.
The market is waaay larger and the euro is low now compared to the Krona.
There is a fear in Swedish people for importing a car, its actually very smooth, and it might save you a pretty penny.
More so than what you will loose when you sell it compared to a Swedish car.
And who knows what the future might hold for you, right now your unemployed by then hopefully things will look brighter.
So i would save the money i could today.

As for which one to pick, that is something you can only answer yourself, if i were you i would go with the Golf, mainly due to the fact that i do not trust the quality of Opel's.

The warranty from Germany is valid in Sweden so that is not an issue

You can make a nice little vacation out of it as-well, perhaps visit Mercedes Museum in Stuttgart ( should fit your taste)

Andreas, is their any thing particularly wrong with your present car? My approach would be, unless your present car is turning into a money pit, hold off and wait till you get the car you really want -
