Press Release Actor Paul Walker dies in car crash

RIP Paul Walker

Porsche has had several lawsuits in the past regarding the safety of Porsche Carrera GT in case of an accident (one of the reasons why Porsche shelved the Carrera GT).

I smell another lawsuit coming Porsche's way. The fact that it exploded on impact and was caught on fire makes matters worse for Porsche.

The top 2 pics were taken, literally minutes before his death.

Looking at the wreckage, that is one serious impact. I fail to see how the fact that it burst into flames is a design flaw.

Beyond movies and cars he was a great human being. I was fortunate to get involved in some of the activities of his organisation Reach Out for the World. Such a humble guy. I am shocked and speechless.God this is injustice.

Porsche are not to blame. Regardless of which car it is, hitting a tree or a pole is one of the most lethal causes of road related deaths. In this case, the Carrera GT hit both. It's enough with the pole to weaken carbon fiber sub-frame for the engine, to then expose the fuel tank and engine to slam into the tree and ignite a flame. You can tell from the photos of the wreckage that it was a high speed accident. It's not a car I would have the guts to drive fast. It's very old school and doesn't bail you out when you're on the verge of losing control.

One of the most difficult cars in the world to drive fast - absolutely lethal in the hands of the rich and talentless. This is not a Porsche problem; this is blatantly human error.

Truly awful. Regarding the accident itself and the impact, clearly speed was involved but from experience of Porsches and serious impacts there are few cars better for protecting the passengers. Of course I'm making reference to their normal steel cars and not CF so maybe that is the key difference.

Clearly that gas line didn't explode, and if it did it wouldn't explain the mangled car at all.

The car is "mangled" because it hit a tree and a pole at high speed. Simple.
