According to Netzietung my beloved 997 Turbo has blazed around the ring in 7.49min with stock tires and 7.42min with semi racing tires. Although we on this forums use sportauto times as a benchmark these times give an indication of the capabilities of this car. It is said that the times have been set by the Sports Auto driver W.Rohrl but we will wait for official announcement from Sport Auto themselves.

Below here is the link to the thread with all the lap times for you who are too lazy to dig it up yourselves.

Just wondering, how fast the Corvette ZO6 went around the ring?

According to GM, 7.42 min. I'll wait for Sportautos test because they always use the same driver and test the cars the way they leave the factory.

Sportauto, Horst von Saurma did 8.05 min with a 997S. 997TT will be much faster , thats for sure. Old Turbo did it in 7.56 min according to Sportauto.

Luwalira, W.Rohrl is porsches own testdriver. Horst von Saurma is the driver from Sportauto.

I would expect a lap time around but hopefully below 7:44, depending upon tires, for the GT3.

The Z06 is a fast car but................

That is why sportauto is the best source for lap times.

Yeah I always thought GM cheated in a way. It explains why the time is also unofficial. Its a fast car no doubt but no where that fast.

I would get flamed for saying this on certain other forums but I should be safe here.

So what makes the Z06's time any different from German manufacturers who develop their cars exclusively on the Nurburgring?

Anyway, I'm quite suprised the GT2 is faster than the GT3 RS.

Latest news: In a German magazine Porsche claims to have acheived a 7.42 laptime with the 997TT.

The Z06 time is more or less unvalid since the car is said to have had it suspension settings tuned and tires changed. Additionally we don't know if the time was acheived from a standing start or not.
