93-year-old man has his first crash, hits two Porsches

If his 76-year blemish-free driving record had to come to an end, then it could hardly have done so in more spectacular fashion.

With not even a minor prang to his name in half a million miles of motoring, 93-year-old Jack Higgs and his £600 Ford Fiesta managed to demolish two Porsches causing £60,000 of damage.

The retired church minister lost control as he reversed outside the Porsche showroom next to his home, hitting a red Carrera II, which acted as a ramp and flipped the Fiesta car over on to a silver 911.

Old people may have lowers instances of accidents but it seems when they do have them they cause major damage. Like when they drive the wrong way down the freeway or flip onto 911s.

Elderly drivers are the worst drivers around. And it's ironic the man who used to be pentecostal minister said "Thank god I'm alive". Well if there was god then this would not have happened in the first place!

Dam right my friends. I have so many road rage incidents with them it an't funny, and they are the ones who shouted abusive languages 1st.

A car magazine I read publishes short reports of all road accidents in Finland which result in fatalities. Judging by those reports, young drivers die (or kill others) because of their own stupidity (excessive speed, drunk driving etc.) whereas older drivers die because they pull out of junctions in front of trucks.

My first thought was:

"He's still driving at 93?"

The only thing he should be driving is his wheelchair!
