The BMW 8 Series is a range of grand tourer coupes and convertibles produced by BMW. The 8 Series was introduced in 1990 under the E31 model code and was only available as a two-door coupé. The E31 was discontinued in 1999 due to poor sales. The model range was later reintroduced in 2018 with the second generation, G15 8 Series. It launched in coupé (G15), convertible (G14), and four-door Gran Coupé (G16) body styles, as the successor to the F06/F12/F13 6 Series lineup.
Nah... Cheap renders that mix F01 press photos with the look of the CS Concept. Scott said that the production Cs would be a carbon copy of the Concept, and this is not.

I agree. Supposed to be CS carbon copy. We don't need a rendering, just look at CS concept pics. ;)

If not you will only end up very dissapointed..
 
I'm not worried about the final design. I know BMW wont screw it up if the car comes a reality.

Exactly. Sometimes it seems like BMW fans are talking about the CS as if it's a production car and even put it up against other near production ready four door coupes. As much as I love the CS, the production car will in no way look at dramatic and gorgeous.

It's time to wake up guys. The CS is just a concept like the Ocean Drive, there's a heck alot of icing on the CS that will be whiped off for the production car. Just look at the BMW 6-series vs the Z9 Concept. They are superb examples.

The CS on the other hand is a pure concept sporting no engine under the hood and designed with no energy held back for regulations and other rational reasons. It's a full blooded concept and the X6 and Z4 concepts aren't, they are more like previews of a production car.

Dont you know that the production cars where READY when these pointless concept cars where made..
And IF that was the case with the CS we would have seen it ON the road today...
not like in 1 year or more:D
 
I dont like the concept version of CS, never had and never will. However the production car will be a stunner, afterall its BMW. It wont be design failure like some of you hope for.

Word! There are no haters here, pretty much everyone on this forum loves the car.
 
lol @ some of the people here. CS concept and the final production version will be close to idential from the outside, minus some very small details like more normal door handles.
Centurion simply can't handle the fact that this actually is going to be a very pretty car....we can't say that with Panamera.
And Artist....do some research before shouting things based on nothing.

You don't have a clue, or you say that not having a B-pillar on a concept is small? The difference between production CS and concept CS will nowhere be as big.
Ever heard of the VW new Beetle? That was a design concept that went into production almost unchanched.....and it was indeed very hard for VW to engineer the tech in a way that it would fit the shape. And that was a cheap car.

And the 6er vs Z9 is a TERRIBLE example. The 6er was never supposed to be a copy of the Z9. It was supposed to be influenced by it. Which it does superbly. The CS on the other hand is supposed to go into production with the same dimensions, even. As a copy indeed.

But i know the story..the damn car will look like the concept..with the added UGLYness...and every BMW fan will say..its identical..the only things that are changed are for pedestrian laws..and for safety..thats why it differs..

Of course it won't be exactly the same as the concept, but at the same time, there are people that are saying it will look like the concept since it had a very good feedback. I could be wrong of course, and I know the difference between those concepts I showed and a concept a la Ocean Drive. If the only difference is going to be minor things like side mirrors and what not, I think you should pay up to Kiler, hehe.

Like Klier said, the CS vs 8er/GT7 and Z9 vs 6er is not a good comparison.

And for shts and giggles:
The proposed "8er" as they say it will be called... Will be a carbon coby identikit of the CS Concept . Even though in early 2008 BMW will invite media to drive and familar themselves with the CS Concept at a private BMW track .
Wait till you see this car move it has a definite "get out of my way" aura about it.
