6 Series 6 Series M-Sport Package

The BMW 6 Series is a range of grand tourers produced by BMW since 1976. It is the successor to the E9 Coupé. The first generation BMW E24 6 Series was available solely as a two-door coupé and produced from 1976 to 1989, when it was supplanted by the larger BMW 8 Series (E31). When the 6 Series nameplate was revived in 2004 for the second generation, the BMW E63/E64 6 Series, the coupé was joined by a convertible body style. The third generation F06/F12/F13 6 Series debuted in 2011 as a coupé and convertible, and a sedan variant known as the "Gran Coupé" in 2012. When the F06/F12/F13 6 Series ended production, the "Gran Coupé"/coupé/convertible models shifted into the more upmarket BMW 8 Series (G15) nameplate. The fourth generation 6 Series, the G32 6 Series, debuted in mid-2017 and is offered only as a fastback body style to complement the BMW 5 Series (G30) sedan/wagon.
Why has BMW's media been such a mess? first there was that red pic of the F20 leaked, now a product listed for sale when it is still supposed to be secret... unless this whole package is part of the marketing strategy..

Anyway, seriously, why did BMW even bother to offer the 6er without full LED headlights?? There is no way anyone would want it without it, if someone ordered one without LED headlights they probably haven't seen the car WITH LED's or they didn't know about it. This car is just so hot, it's predatory while also so elegant and smooth, perfect for a coupe... would really prefer over the CL.

Admit though, that while the new BMWs can still be said to have a "driver-orientated" cockpit, which i think they always had even without the obvious tilt of the centre console to the driver (afterall i think it is the positioning of things that matter more than simply tilitng the centre), the fact is that E46 and before, BMW interiors are kind of no-frills, a good level of luxury but there weren't fancy things, it was like making the car good for the driver was above everything.. like the E34, the Eclass back then had a much better "looking" interior, while even the E46, the same era Cclass had a much busier and a much newer looking interior. Now i guess it's with the competition and others managing to catch up on BMW's sports image that they have to decorate the interior a lot. can't blame them but i hope there will eventually be a car that will pick up their traditional theme of an Ultimate Driving Machine. E90 vs E46 interior, i think everyone would say the E46's was better, even not taking their age into account, if i was presented with these two interiors i would still choose the E46, it's just so good, feels good and looks good...perhaps a bit of update with the controls or trims but the layout is just unbeatable... the 1series has a similar interior, more cramped than E46but if i was to choose between a 1series and 3series E90, a reason i get tempted for a 1 will be because of its interior.

I know what you mean about the leds but on another forum they were disgusted by the look of the leds :t-crazy2: This M-pack... Greycoupé, what ext/int colours did you choose?

.

what "red pic of the F20" ??? Have I missed something?

Scott, I hope the media department @ BMW keeps F****** up :D

And I was so convinced you'd say something positive in a BMW thread for once.

It's funny, I could say the same for many BMW guys posting in the Merc section. You see what you want to see: http://www.germancarforum.com/6-series/35794-official-pictures-bmw-6er-convertible.html

Back on topic. To me this sport package adds nothing to the sportiness of the regular 6er and actually makes it appear a little cheap. Of course it could just be the poor quality picture. Just like the SLK and CLS the normal package will be the one to get...until the M.

Both the front lights and front bumpers of the AMG and M packs look very similar between the SLK and 6er.

C'mon, bum-man I was just teasing you a bit there. ;):t-cheers:

It's somewhat blurry pic but what I can tell it looks pretty much what you'd expect from the spy pics. But in any case let's wait for some real-life shots.

Benny @ BimmerToday has caught some pictures of an Imola Red BMW 650i Convertible with M-Sport Packet. But what is signifcant is that the Convertible displays the latest LED light technology as introduced on the Coupe. The option will be available for the Coupe in September. Also upcoming is the BMW 6er Diesel and the option of xDrive, which will be showcased at the IAA in Frankfurt in September.

BMW has straight up ripped off the AMG front bumper look. Just look at the new Z M-Pack bumper. It has an identical AMG design, down to the two protrusions on each side that lead into what become the air dam posts.

Anyway, this car is looking to become something epic. Very expensively epic though.

I ordered the M Sport package on my new coupe.

For US market, it includes

"373M wheels with performance tires, full LED headlights, multi contour seats, LED fog lights, M steering wheel, Aero kit, Alcantara headliner, sport tuned exhaust system, tailpipes in dark chrome, painted brake calipers, M footrest, M doorsills, and increased speed limiter."

I can hardly wait...!

:D

Sounds like it will be absolutely lovely. BTW what is "dark chrome"? Sounds like something I'd dig, any pics of it?

Readers of Germanys' Autobild + Autobilds' various European sister publications recently voted BMWs' new 6 series the most visually attractive automobile of 2011. I tend to agree. After having had initial reservations about the cabriolet, I have eventually come to realize just how absolutely gorgeous this car is. And...the coupe will be even better !!

Aaaah, well played!

NO!
Well actually Porsche belongs right there too ;)

For the moment, VAG can perfectly ruin that in just a couple of years. Starting with the sub-Boxter car, the Cajun and the Pajun.

Back on the 6er, I think the M pack front bumper doesn´t look as good as the Gran Coupe Concept, which definetly would be my choice for the Coupe.

I believe it will be the same color as the tailpipes of my old X5 4.4i.
