2026 Mercedes GLE/GLS Facelift

  • No link dumping. Do not create empty posts with a single link and/or a couple of words and a link. For example, if you are going to link to a news article, add an image and/or provide a decent summary of it to give some context to the reader. Abusing this will get hyperlinking permissions removed from your account, all posting permissions removed, and/or spam banned from the site.

Plenty of people rightfully don't even have an Instagram account. And the ones who do can see that stuff over there.

As pointed out, link dumping is detrimental to the forum and as such is not permitted.
Users who have not heeded warnings in the past have been permanently banned.

Quick question are we not allowed to post Instagram just making sure as I have a few times so don't want to end up on the wrong side ?

We're pretty lenient despite the fact that links to other sites drives traffic away from our site which costs us money. We ask that members respect this and provide some context in accompanying text instead of just dumping a link in post.

Some folks only post a one-liner like "new model incoming on 29/02/2027" which is borderline (we'd prefer a bit more substance in a short paragraph along with the link you're providing) but at least this gives users a heads up as to what the link leads to and they can choose whether they wish to follow it.

Here's an illustration of a smart way to do what I've described in the above paragraph:

Somehow they already look dated, especially the SUVs, big exception the GLC, but the rest? …. hmm sad
Totally agree, I am afraid that the S-class and the GLS/GLE SUVs using the 3-year-old E-class design theme will become even more dated next year when the E-class ICE will receive a facelift and the C-class and E-class EQ models will be launched. I think Mercedes should have used the same iconic grill theme with these models as the GLC. They already did massive changes to each of their grills why not bring them in line with the latest design theme.

It's the big lights that hurt it. I didn't expect the iconic grille. Too much investment for a facelift.

They did alot of changes to the current front end so I am sure they could have done a nicer change to the grill to make it fit in well with the iconic grill of the GLC. The AMG grill looks bad and in my opinion they should have shown the GLS with the classic grill instead.

And then when the iconic grille shows up (again) on the next generation GLS and and GLE, it will be called old and tired because it was on the previous generation. They can't win. IMO, if they had matched the GLE, the GLS would have been fine. The problem for me is that the GLS has headlights that look to be the size of the headlights on my S500. Way too big for a 2027 Mercedes-Benz. I just hope they don't give the C facelift huge lights.

I don't think so. The new style is fresh and will last for a while.
I think it's gorgeous. Best MB front in ages.

The problem with the GLE/S is that they use old tech for major interior parts, where newer cheaper models moved on.
This is not good at all.

I do. Some here will most definitely say it because they say these things now. That said, the newer hyperscreen or whatever they call it should have been used here, would have made a world of difference. The cheaper models moving on and getting newer tech has been happening for a while now. The A-Class started this trend. At this point their lineup is so big they have a real issue trying to deploy the old top down tech first method. It simply doesn't work like that anymore. The GLC EV is more advanced than the S-Class in some ways now. Doesn't make the S_Class a penalty box either.

For BMW it's the exact opposite, they update all their cars to the newest tech the first chance they get.
So it's entirely MBs own doing. Doesn't have to be like that.

Don't judge based on screens. Mercedes works like BMW when it comes to technological innovation. Currently, the most important innovation is MB.OS. It started with the CLA, and every new model released after that comes with the MB.OS operating system. Technology doesn't determine the different screen sizes and shapes. BMW designed the new screen to be compatible with all models. That's why things are easier for them. But you can't integrate the hyperscreen from the GLC into a facelift S-Class.

I don't think the absence of a hyper screen is a deal breaker. There are car buyers who value familiarity, ease of use and less overwhelm. All JLR cars have "small" screens and it's not a barrier to purchase.

Some car buyers are women. In fact, in families, they have the greatest influence even if the guy is paying. They buy car for how it makes them FEEL rather than number on spec sheets or NUMBER OF FEATURES buried deep across multiple screens.

When you are rushing between work, school runs, sports clubs, grocery shopping and errands, the 30min walk through of the screens will have long been forgotten.
