2026 Mercedes GLE/GLS Facelift

I may be in the minority but I dig the GLS w/ classic grill and hood ornament. At the very least you can ditch the million star sports grill.

I'm going to order mine with it. My current GLS580 lease ends in late 2027, I'll be ready for my next one by then. Unless the X7 gets bigger inside that is - then that makes the choice much harder.

I see a number of GLS videos where they annoyingly mention it's the S-class of SUVs. The GLS is far from been an S-class of SUVs, it doesn't have the interior or the refinement to match the S-class or the looks. I hope the next model will distance itself further from the GLE and have a totally different interior.

As an still owner of the W223 (so pre-facelift) S class, closer to almost 70k miles with it...i had to say that there is no refinement to it left from one point of view. Let me explain whats bother me..and hope this helps you in the future if you didnt know by now already...every time you buy a new car test drive it...ofc you all know that...but test drive on a very very abrasive driveway because that alone will tell you which car is better screwed together ....my is not for its class...unfortunately i thought its just my car, i got some little annoying sounds on the bottom of my seats where the leather is embedded into the seat (lets say closer where the seats commands are on an bmw for example)...also some in the bottom of the left window and ive gone to the dealer and the others 2 test drive cars that were there, same thing on the driveway..thats a negative for me because on the W220 never had these type of sounds...and, more important the new PPC A6 doesnt have so many little annoying sounds and its a class below to the S class...the A6 has a better build, screwed vehicle and that piano black is somehow cover in glass on the main console compared to mine which is somehow plain black plastic. The rest is ok, the airmatic i still thinks is the most complicated but also one of the most refined in the business , the 10% turn rear wheels is a bless of technology ....the engine, even if its an diesel is indeed very refined and so on etc...but the build quality IMO, is behind Audi and Bmw...and this GLS or the new S are just facelifts and the underneath i expect is the same platform...so i dont think Mercedes improved its build ...just different design parts with some extra/new optionals...In the past we appreciate the elegant design too because the rest we somehow knew what we were going to get....now i appreciate and i hope to be reliable and has a good build, the design ,sadly, doesnt even matter for me anymore.. hope this post wasnt too long
