2026 Mercedes GLE/GLS Facelift

Instead of the hyperscreen in the GLC EV, they've used that hideous three-part screen again. I really don't understand what Mercedes is trying to do.

The GLS has no appealing qualities whatsoever. It looks like a minivan. The GLE is nicer. Its dimensions are more proportionate. The GLS is simply ugly.

They didn't show much of the GLS. They only showed one base car with little wheels. How weird. It should hopefully look better when you get to see the full range. Where are the AMG 63 models and the Maybach GLS?

We'll have to wait until 2027 for the V8 AMGs.

I did say that the GLS should move upmarket to be an S-class SUV. Do you guys see my point now?

At least they kept physical controls. Should have done that with the sedans.

I like the new cabins. The separate screens aren't as noticeable as in the S-Class. I don't understand why they insist on using that cursed grille; it's really awful. The GLE's headlights are much better than the GLS's. I used to think otherwise.

First thoughts:

+ GLE is much more successful facelift than the GLS
- They didn't upgrade the pitiful 255hp I5 in the in the GLE350
- They used the screen from the GLB, CLA, VLE and not the screen from the GLC EV
+ The interiors kept the buttons
- GLS looks confused with that grille and star at the same time
+ GLE53 Hybrid is amazing
