What feedback? The three people you talked to at the dealership?

All customers who drive GT 4D and S-Class AMGs were asked about the new car.

They also had the opportunity to pre order and got some informations about that car.

None of them did.

That shows me in what direction it’ll go.

Yeah well Mercedes has 6500 dealerships worldwide. Next time do your survey on some more spots.

It does appear that should there be a lightbar, the headlamp connecting strip is either absolutely flush...or...has been deleted. On earlier prototypes, the lightbar's contours appear more prominent somehow.

Just for the sake of reference...

Here is an image that was circulating the automotive media several months ago...sans front lightbar.

IMHO, it would be grand should that image be a very accurate reflection of what to expect in the form of the real finished product.

Unfortunately I am only well connected with Swiss dealers.

The GT 4D was actually very successful in Switzerland.

But people bought it because they didn’t wanted a Panamera.

In these markets it might work, but that’s less than 1000 cars per yr imho.

Simply for the sake of reference, in 2023, a total of approx. 5000 Porsche Taycans were sold in the aforementioned regions. About as many as in Germany that year, which was a peak year for the sales of that particular car. In the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland, there were about 8000 units sold. Another 2500+ in U.S. states other than California and Oregon.

Quite a few units for an automobile as expensive as the Taycan and for an automobile that inhabits much of the segment that the AMG.EA GT 4 door is targetting.

Of course, sociopolitical currents have changed since 2023. Yet still, diminishing the significance of these types of vehicles is obviously not warranted.

Just sayin'.

What will be comical about this car like with other EVs, is that journalists and Mercedes executives will give it top reviews but yet won’t spend their personal money on buying one. 🙄

If the real car is anything close to looking like that then colour me red.

Press fleet cars furnished to top journos and influencers. Buying with "personal money" hardly a prudent decision.

...M-B/AMG executives are also brand ambassadors and hence enjoy the privilege of often exclusive, very representative business vehicles. Buying with "personal money" hardly a prudent decision.

Let’s be honest, AMGs are the first thing you think about when they say “German V8 car”…M5 maybe second. So it’s become their whole identity😉.

Let's be honest, ever since I was a kid I knew BMW was the brand who brought back the V8 after the devastation of WW2.
So like every single topic here, we will not settle into an agreement. BMW and the V8 have a longer continues relation than MB and the V8.

Okay i’m not denying since i did not know BMW did that first. But go around & ask everyone on this planet what they have in mind when you say “German V8 Car”. Make a Poll, a questionnaire or something…i want to see what the replies say😁.
