I agree. Both are currently sales failures. In the EU and probably U.K. as well, it will be all about how the AMG.EA GT performs against the Porsche Taycans and Audi eTron GTs. Taking the current "political environment" into consideration.

The plaid is The best bang for the buck.It will be interesting to see how this AMG EV performs against the competition.

It depends. I've added it to the list, but in terms of quality, I think it's the worst. However, even with those flaws, it's still an 'interesting' price. The plaid is The best bang for the buck.
It's at that price because really it has nothing other than it's speed to justify any more. As you say, the build quality and general fit and finish is awful. It feels cheap on the inside. It depends. The built quality of the e-tron gt is also terrible.I

I saw one yesterday, but I also saw a 992 GT3RS which I would always prefer. Can't even remember when I saw an e-tron GT for the last time....
Absolutely dead.
I'm guessing that maybe a handful are registered in my Landkreis (county), one of which belonging to a good acquaintance. But they've been around for some while and I haven't spotted any newer ones. It seems after initial interest was piqued, desirability began to decline pretty quickly. They are quite decisively outnumbered by Porsche Taycans. I still like the etron GT, but "like" is hardly "fascination". It got a bit stale rather quickly.I saw one yesterday, but I also saw a 992 GT3RS which I would always prefer.![]()
The biggest difference is the much cheaper interior than in the taycan.

The AMG EV could sell ok is there is a range of V8 black series models that customers can ladder up to e.g C63 BS, G63 BS and AMG GT BS.The design was overwrought and gimmicky from the onset. Nothing like the clean Bauhaus aesthetic that made Audi's so popular. I didn't like it at the start, and it's just become worse with age.
Tie this in to pricing that is just way too close to a Taycan for comfort, given Porsche's far stronger brand prestige and resales, and it was going to be a tough sell from the onset.
The same will happen with this new AMG sadly.

Porche likely has sold tens of thousands of Taycan purely to those who want to get into a GT3, GT4, S/T and Sport Classic.
But as Bob Dylan about 60 years ago sang,They know exactly what is selling and how well, so they adjusted to that already and results we will see in the coming years, 4 door EV was decided few years ago when Taycan and whole EV direction was clear choice. Not anymore
If you like how electric cars drive, they’re fine, but they’re not longterm keepers because the battery will eventually break down because of aging.
I can provide data from my Audi e-tron, the range went down 10% within 5 years. This is a meaningless statement without mentioning timeframes. All evidence suggests that EV batteries are not degrading anywhere close to the expected rates. And you know what? ICEs degrade too.
So, can you provide actual data, or are you just repeating things you've read?
