X2 2025 BMW X2 Spyshots

The BMW X2 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV produced by BMW since 2017. It is marketed as a sports activity coupé (SAC), it is considered a sportier and less practical alternative to the X1, as is the case with other even-numbered X models with its respective counterparts.

Damn they have abandoned that upright hatch for a typical X Sport Activity Coupe outline.
I wonder if XM reversed the idea so that XM defines that look separate from the other X models?

I usually have something to defend about their designs but what the actual f#ck is this? It looks like a Citroen C4

Such a shame that they abandoned the current X2’s design language because it was one of the if not the best looking compact SUV on the market.

The X2 probably tops my list of worst looking BMW's, I was hoping they'd reinvent it somewhat, and I'm not naturally averse to the coupe roof line, but this is currently looking like it'll be an amalgamation of the various design cues I'm not so keen on.

Yup. Another egg shaped suv. There is nothing with the current X2 shape. The interior sucked ass from day one and the interior was a bit small in relation to its price.

I remember years ago in a planning meeting about “possible” X2 after there was the announcement for the X4 to be shown as a concept prior to production. And a second generation X6 was in development.
One of the engineers had a way of describing each model by wheelbase against design. The longer the wheelbase, the more dramatic the outline gets. When it came to X1 it begins to form the outline of an egg as you don’t have that wheelbase length to stretch the roofline everything looks condensed.
It was one of the reasons why X2 looked more like an upright hatch or shooting brake.

Carscoops is reporting that this is nex gen X4, and they are wrong.

Just compare where the front axle is on X3 prototype

It’s definitely not the X4. You can easily tell by the size and also those X1 wheels. Sometimes I wonder how they call themselves “auto journalists” when they can’t even tell which one is which. Some people in this forum would make a much better journalists I swear to God lol.

Even the mirror design is different. This prototype has the same mirrors as the X1 and they attach the same way.

The X3 mirros attach along whte trim, not above it.

Yes, more than a small X4, it seems to be more like the concept of this citroen/peugeot/toyota crown, which seems to be the next "big thing" a kind of raised sedan, there may be a somewhat fake rear window in the camo too

Actually I'm not surprised. Since new X1 grew in size, they can now pull typical coupe SUV shape to directly compete against Audi Q3 sportback.
Previous X1 was too small. To use that as a base for X2 and put a sloping roof line would look totally awkward.

Yes, it may also be that they must have studied success in each format and I think that Audi sells very well

Yes, Probably Q3 Sportback and Q4 e-tron Sportback given the possible existence of an iX2.

They certainly had the ability to do a fresher evolution.
