1 Series 2024 BMW 1 SERIES

The BMW 1 Series is a range of subcompact executive cars (C-segment) manufactured by BMW since 2004. Positioned as the entry-level model in BMW range of products, the first generation was produced in hatchback, coupé and convertible body styles.
Anything new from 1 series F40 LCI or will it be 1 series F70 new model for 2024?

It looks like a LCI F40.
I'm all for it. List prices for cars are increasing at an alarming rate. I would rather pay for a heavy facelift at currents prices rather than 15-20% more for a "new" car that don't have a major impact on my day to day driving.

Those that have seen it say it’s LCI is not that far off the appearance of the 2er Active Tourer.
M Packet has been reconfigured.
The addition of M icons to the M Performance line gives a quasi-M appearance to the M135i.

We need a rear wheel drive M hatchback. Wide fenders lsd en a 4 cil M engine with 340hp.
Buy an Impreza WRC (which is almost as you describe), otherwise you'll get bored waiting

In a perfect world. Just to think. If still RWD?
The 1er could have benefitted from the 2er and it’s sporty Blistered broad wheel arches. I think in this generation they would have done an M1 Sporthatch it could probably of had the M2 front facia.

That’s why they moved it to FWD.

I've never had a problem with that move based on my 1-series ownership experience.

Shame they made it a bit uglier and not better than it's competitors, but it is what it is.

Yummy yummy RWD proportions. Unrealistic but still fun to look at.

Realistic for a BEV successor though. Most BEV cars are going RWD (or AWD), so this would be a nice design of an NK i1.

Not better? Not sure a Golf, an A3 or an A-Class are any better. Based on the reviews I read, the BMW has the best engines and best interior quality.

The E87 and F20 where in a class of its own with its RWD architecture. Funny enough it is 19 years this month when BMW introduced the first 1er. The E87 Sporthatch. Now we have the F40 with its FWD architecture. Progress?

Nope. Just stupid customers. The first 1er was just much better than the current one.

If that was what Marski was implying, there fully agree.

I would like to know if the sales changed, comparatively the best full years of both RWDs against those of the FWD, being that when they asked people if they would notice the change it was a resounding "nobody cares", for which everything was focused in making the FWD platform more productive......

Back in 2008 when MINI was the runaway success it was and the second generation was in the pipeline to be far more expansive with the Clubman and Countryman. BMW looked at a sub-1er City Car.
There was proposals that took from a Isetta revival to cars that would eventually become the i3 and X1.
Sharing everything with the MINI it would be a rival to Audi’s planned A1 model. This was also around the time that the 4er and 2er would arrive with the E92 and E88 but then be held over to the next generations.

The sub-MINI BMW was being touted as the 0 Series or 1er with its sibling moving to be a 2er. A theory that eventually came to fruition with the 2er Active Tourer. MINI in its first two generations was not entirely profitable which then conceived alignment with BMW in the UKL architecture.
If you remember that robot video for Twin Turbo Technology when they rotated that engine in the graphic and the internet went crazy?

UKL was Far more profitable and flexible for both brands further expansion.
X2, Gran Coupe and the China 1er Sedan are examples of this.
Before this they investigated a relationship with Toyota specifically for MINI and the sub-MINI Rocketman city car. You could say they are there now with Great Wall and the next generation of MINI. Only the politics have changed.
