^I agree, Mercedes usually removes the camo little by little before a pending date.
MB diehards fans know the camo removal starts at the top and slowly works its way down like a slow strip tease.
It has not happened for the CLE just yet.

2023 Mercedes CLE first ride: trying the C-Class coupé replacement

New CLE coupé and convertible pair are due in 2023 - and we've been given an exclusive first ride
To be revealed in coupé form in July and launched in the UK by the end of the year.

“We asked C-Class coupé owners what they expected from a successor model. The overwhelming answer was 'greater luxury'. E-Class coupé owners, on the other hand, said they wanted a 'more sporting driving character'. We've attempted to imbue these qualities into a single model,” said Christof Kühner, Head of Overall Vehicle Testing for the CLE.“

Interesting quote from the Autocar article. Welcome back CLK.

Unfortunately it looks like my optimism has been misplaced. Looks more C coupe than E coupe.
Exactly. From the A pillar right on to the C pillar it’s C class. As we’ve been told, so will be the interior. It’s more of a C class coupé than a CLE; very, very little E on board I’m afraid.

That makes total sense. The E-class coupe and cab were resolute luxury cars much like in the W124 era. The AMG E53 was the only trim in which that car felt remotely playful, and even then it had a much more subdued exhaust than other AMGs.

Meanwhile the C-class coupe/cab was clearly a step down from the E-class in luxury.

You'd think the interior would be more akin to the E-Class, that way a higher price tag could have been justified. Seems like a missed opportunity to fatten those profit margins.

I do wish it had a bit more of a trunk and define 3/4 area, but I do like the overall looks a lot more than the 4er. Glad there will be an i6 CLE53, unfortunate the CLE63 will be an i4. That long hood and proportions are ASKING for a proper potent powertrain.

None of those engines are confirmed or official yet.

They already confirmed that 3.0 i6 is coming to the car. Plus, CLE53 appeared in the MB USA leaked model lineup.
There is no confirmation for the 63 model. Yeah I know the rest, I posted it here. I’m talking about the 63.

The widebody spy shots and i4 soundtrack is enough confirmation for the C63 for me

Gorgerous shape! I know it the reveal was close. Can't wait! Thanks for share.

Make no mistake, this car will be priced well into E class territory. The interior and exterior will look like a C class, but the profit margins will be fattened anyway.
