Point for AVH for the tribute in his lifetime (not even two years ago?) with the Garmisch concept, in which he even cooperated closely, Lamborghini owed him more I think, maybe they paid him a tribute and I missed it

He designed probably arguably the first and one of the most iconic "supercar." And that alone would guarantee you entrance into the pantheon of the automotive world. But add to that how relatively prolific he was across different brands and styles, jeez.....

An absolute giant.

Sorry for bringing the vile metal into this, but this piece was already priceless and now can you imagine how much it became worth? one of his "first" and at the same time last works, as with all genius and his work when he dies

But add to that how relatively prolific he was across different brands and styles,

Relatively? IMHO, the guy was the biggest/most important car stylist, bar Giugiaro.
He (well, them along Giugiaro) changed the car design forever, with influences and trends lasting up to these days.

His style shaped what Lamborghini was and has become, with a design language they still use nowadays. And in the case of the Countach, arguably the most groundbreaking -style wise- car ever.

But aside of all the fabulous supercars, spaceships (Citröen Bx) and more utilitarian cars; just as the Countach wrote the supercar design book, his Renault Magnum did the same with trucks. The rivals from that era look prehistoric in comparison and it took ages for other companies to catch up.

RIP Gandini; what a legend!

The gold rims definitely are another highlight. Nice nicely specced indeed. Bold yet classy.

Pretty rare seeing these in a drag race. It did actually pretty well against the Ferraris. That supercapacitor definitely helped.
