Q3 / RS Q3 2018 Audi Q3 (2nd generation)

The Audi Q3 is a subcompact luxury crossover SUV made by Audi. The Q3 has a transverse-mounted front engine, and entered production in 2011.
It's just me or this looks much better than the current car?

More and more, the only Audis I like are the SUVs.

2019 Audi Q3 Scooped In Europe, Could Offer Plug-in Hybrid And EV Variants
Audi-Q3-5.webp

The Audi Q3 is getting a little long-in-tooth but that's about to change as spy photographers have snapped photos of an all-new model.
previous reports have suggested the Q3 be about 2.3 inches (5.8 cm) longer than its predecessor. Perhaps the biggest change will be a switch from the old PQ35 architecture to the more modern MQB platform that underpins an assortment of different vehicles. The change is expected to improve comfort and drivability as well as result in a weight loss of around 110 lbs (50 kg).

Engine options are expected to echo those offered in the Volkswagen Tiguan and include everything from an entry-level 1.5-liter four-cylinder to a turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder producing around 400 PS (298 kW). Plug-in hybrid and electric variants have also been rumored and the later is expected to have a range of up to 186 miles (299 km) on a single charge.

Audi is heading blindly to the valley of death. The people who are running this brand are simply retarded.

That's a fun looking nose. I am very curious about the interior. Will it be inspired by the A8/A7 or will it be more like the A4?

2019 Audi Q3 Spied With New Taillights, Looks Tiguan-Like

The second-generation Audi Q3 is currently undergoing its last winter testing session before its big reveal this year. And while we have seen this car before, its LED taillights are being shown for the first time.

Being spotted in the company of the bigger Q5 makes the angular styling stand out even more. The taillights are long, with bold geometric creases. While this is a new design for Audi, it has nothing to do with what we see on the A8 and A7 Sportback.

Instead, a parallel can more easily be drawn with its platform brother, the Volkswagen Tiguan. It too features sharp creases and jewel-like "cuts" on the taillight surface.

Of course, there's no confusing the two. Even though they are based on the same MQB platform and could also have the same wheelbase, the Q3 and Tiguan are undeniably different. The Audi model has a steeper rake for its back window and a pronounced sporty character.

We've long suspected that the Q3 will go beyond the usual confines of the compact car class, offering more interior space. But seeing it in the company of the Q5, it's almost like they are the same size.

This particular Q3 prototype is clearly front-wheel-drive, with no prop shafts showing at the rear. While unknown at the moment, the engine range is likely to be identical to that of the sister models from Skoda, Volkswagen, and SEAT.

Most European customers will go for the 2.0 TDI with either 150 or 190 HP. We suspect that the base 1.6 TDI won't be offered at all, its place being taken by a de-tuned 2.0 TDI.

Of course, if you just want a FWD Q3, the 1.5 TFSI with 130 or 150 HP will do the job just fine. A hybrid version of that could be installed in the Q3 ultra TFSI model. Further down the line, Audi will undoubtedly also introduce a 400 horsepower RS Q3, but this hasn't been seen yet.

All-New 2019 Audi Q3 Still In Midst Of Undergoing Tests

Audi’s redesigned Q3 crossover is currently being tested in prototype form, with this car making the rounds in Sweden on snow-covered roads.
MQB platform, the 2019 Q3 is expected to shed around 50 kg (110 lbs). Entry-level versions should continue to utilize front-wheel drive, with more expensive ones running Audi’s quattro system.

While its power units will likely mirror those seen in the VW Tiguan, electrified variants have also been going around the rumor mill, suggesting an estimated EV range of up to 300 km (186 miles) on a single charge.

The all-new Audi Q3 is expected to be unveiled either later this year or early in 2019. Future rivals will include the BMW X1, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Jaguar E-PACE and also the Volvo XC40.

That’s beautiful. I am almost in love. I won’t show it to my girlfriend or else she will insists we stick with SUVs instead of going for an estate next time.

2020 Audi SQ3 spy shots

Audi is working on a redesign for its Q3 and today we have the first spy shots of a prototype for a sporty SQ3 variant.

The current Q3 never offered an SQ3 variant, instead going from the regular Q3 straight to a high-performance RS Q3, which incidentally was never sold in the United States.

With the redesigned Q3, which is due on sale next year as a 2020 model, we're expecting both an SQ3 and an RS Q3.

We know the prototype is for an SQ3 because of its quad-tip exhaust system. That's a common design trait of Audi's S cars. The RS cars typically feature a pair of fat oval-shaped exhausts. There's also lowered suspension, chunky brake discs at the front, and an aggressive front fascia.

The powertrain should be the 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 fitted to Audi's S3 sold overseas. The engine delivers 310 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque in the S3 and we can expect something similar for this SQ3. Look for 0-60 mph acceleration to come in under 5.0 seconds.

In the RS Q3, look for a repeat of the current model's 2.5-liter twin-turbocharged inline-5, albeit with output dialed up to match the 400 hp of the latest RS 3. The current RS Q3 has 340 hp in standard form and 367 in Performance guise.

2019 Audi Q3 Looks About Ready To Renew Its Assault On Its Luxury Subcompacts

Audi just revealed the new Q8 and Q2. It rolled out a new Q7 in 2015, and the current Q5 just last year. And it has a new E-Tron EV coming soon. That leaves the Q3 as the oldest crossover in its lineup. But the German automaker is working on that, as these spy shots reveal.

Though we’ve seen prototypes for the new Q3 running around under disguise, this is the first time we’ve seen it in the bear metal. And it looks suitably modern, bearing familiar design cues from its newer and larger stablemates. Note the wider trapezoidal grille, the thin angular headlights, the more sculpted flanks, and the altogether more grown-up silhouette.

Introduced back in 2011, the current Q3 is also one of the oldest models in its class. The Cadillac XT4and Lexus UX were just revealed, following the Volvo XC40 and Jaguar E-Pace last year. Infiniti introduced the QX30 in 2016, BMW the current X1 in 2015, and even the Mercedes GLA arrived in 2013. It’s an increasingly competitive market segment, and with the introduction of this new model, Audi will be keen to keep it share of the pie – and maybe grow it a bit, too.

Last year, Audi sold just over 20,000 Q3s in the United States, placing it third behind the X1 and GLA – but well ahead of the QX30 and Range Rover Evoque, which itself is starting to show its age and is soon due for replacement (to join the new Land Rover Discovery Sport).

We’ve been expecting Ingolstadt to roll out the new Q3 sometime later this year. Given the preparedness evident in this latest pre-production prototype, we have ever reason to believe that it’s running on schedule – so watch this space.

Audi

Audi AG is a German automotive manufacturer of luxury vehicles headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. A subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group, the company’s origins date back to the early 20th century and the initial enterprises (Horch and the Audiwerke) founded by engineer August Horch (1868–1951). Two other manufacturers (DKW and Wanderer) also contributed to the foundation of Auto Union in 1932. The modern Audi era began in the 1960s, when Volkswagen acquired Auto Union from Daimler-Benz, and merged it with NSU Motorenwerke in 1969.
