Opel highlights the camouflage on the 2016 Astra prototypes

Opel has announced plans to release the first undisguised pictures of the 2016 Astra in a few weeks.
In order to gear up for the event, Opel is releasing new details about how they camouflaged their prototypes in order to keep the model's design a secret.
The most critical aspect of this is a black and white "Cube" camouflage foil that has a 3D effect which is meant to confuse onlookers. It took approximately 60 to 70 sheets of foil to cover the Astra and each is stone chip, temperature and UV-resistant. This ensures the camouflage can handle extreme conditions including temperatures from -40° to 80° C (-40° to 176° F).
Opel also used a special privacy foil for the instruments, center console and infotainment system. It helps to prevent the contents of the screens from being visible when viewed from the side.
