In brief, which of these super-sedans would you choose and why, (if you had the $$)
Which one is the most beautiful (interior/exterior) to you and which do you believe would win in an overall performance battle. (Please, no fanboy attitudes or flaming.)

S8. Like what I read about it, plus it's avant garde interior is more my thing than the Merc's opulence.

S8. Like what I read about it, plus it's avant garde interior is more my thing than the Merc's opulence.

7er interior still looks the best. And I am disliking the S class interior more and more every time I see it :D Would definitely take an S8 interior over it.

I'd take the S63 for the whole package, but not for it's looks. Not at all. The B7 looks far and away the best....the 7er has aged like a fine red wine.
But right now the S class is the car to beat here, being the newest and most high tech.

Mr Mercedes: LOL! :D

It would be nice if BMW would make the 7er interior more upscale or at least differentiate it from the 5-series

More upscale? Only MB, Rolls Royce and Bentley make better quality interiors in luxury cars. A 760i is highly upscale.

Differentiate? Well, maybe, but both are just very beautiful, upscale interiors. And I'm used to BMW having something very similar in it's cars. The Bangle generation was the only gen where the differences were so big.
And before MB copied the E65 interior into it's W221, the MB interiors were way more similar looking as well.

PS,

the interior of the 7er is just beautiful in your picture. Still is, and will always be. Timeless and effortless.

So you don't consider the Audi A/S8's interior to be as upscale as a 7-series?

The S8 definitely has the more modern interior, one that looks better with an iPhone sitting on the seat or console if you get what I mean. The S-Class is modern, but more ritzy. Like the difference between staying at the Four Seasons vs a JW Marriott. Overall the A8/S8 is the only car in the segment that the S-Class doesn't completely obliterate.

I guess not lol
Personally I feel that the A/S8 has offers the best interior in its class

Well I don't. I like the 7er interior the best. The new S class interior is like a tasteless brothel to me quite frankly (design wise, as there is nothing wrong wih the quality), and the A8 interior will not age well because it's simply trying too much

:D

1. S63 AMG: Love the exterior and interior of this car. Style and quality at it's best. Very souvereign. I haven't had the opportunity yet to drive it. So I can't say anything about the drive;
2. BMW: just for ol' times sake. I Like and liked to drive BMW. Can't give you any further, objective reason;
3. Audi S8: it drives very well indeed. But I don't like the exterior design. The gear-lever is quite a disappointment, compared to the rest of the interior. And that naviscreen.....this doesn't belong in a luxurycar.

Who would win the performance battle on a track? I think the S8

S63 AMG for me please - for exterior, interior, engine and dynamics. Only drawback is its outdated 7G-Tronic transmission. Why do I get the feeling that MB would've been better of jumping on ZF-bandwagon like everyone else who put an 8-Speed auto in their cars.

Let's not right off the 9G Tronic just yet. But if it doesn't match the ZF for speed and refinement, then they should just give up.
