You mean not having any own imagination, but having to copy other brands? Cause if it's not bad, then I think Im born in the wrong world.and this is somehow a bad thing?

Now that is IMO not just supposedly nor just an asumption, it's absolutely true. From most volume manufacturers e.g. KIA (copy cat designs) and more to the point French brands especially Citroen you get designs that are so evolutionary and WOW! when launched. Think DS5, only in two months time...yawn....the hipe is gone.
Where designs are more of something that grows on you and into timeless - good and in other or certain cases brilliant designs. That is what especially makes German carmakers so sought-after, succesful and special
The only instance where this plays the other way around is with Super and Hypercar designs e.g. Pagani, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche etc. Those hit hard and forever from day of launch into eternity. And evokes the most emotion.
Well that is how I have always 'classed' designs in my tiny brain and big soul![]()
Even with Schreyer, Kia shouldn't be ripping off Audi so much. What a pesky thing. Those taillights are practically interchangeable with the A4's.
Schreyer should realize he's with a new company (or the higher ups who are directing him), therefore making its own identity would be his true potion for future revolutionary success.
I totally agree with that but I can understand the problem to an extent. Coming from a musician, it's hard to change your style. I'm assuming him being in the creative industry as well has problems changing his style of design completely. Of course you have to come up with new design (or songs) all the time, but the underlying style remains.
I like Schreyer a lot, but agree that he should change his design language now that he is at Kia. He should not imitate, but reinvent and revolutionize the Kia design. "Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery."
