B-Class (W246) 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class (Spy pics & info)

The W246 is the second generation Mercedes-Benz B-Class. It is the successor to the B-Class W245 and predecessor to the B-Class W247. Production: November 2011 – December 2018. Model years: 2012–2018.
Mercedes-Benz is still testing various prototype versions of the 2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class it seems, as our spy photographers recently caught this example testing in Europe. These shots show the car in the most revealing detail we’ve seen so far, clothed in far less camouflaging than the last time we saw it. We can now see the outline of the front grille and fascia area as well as more of the taillight design.

The screen is like in the new 6 series, not integrated with the dashboard anymore. Is that a trend now?

Looks like it is.

I can't say I like it... Put here like it doesn't belong to the interior...

I guess carmakers have to choose between a heavy, high, protruding dash including the screen on its center, and a more light, elegant and airy dash with a separate, not integrated screen...

Those giant central screens are really ruining the interior of modern cars. I think a total rethink of the current ergonomics is necessary, screens are getting bigger and bigger and now mess up the interior big time.

For instance, putting a big screen in place of the gauges, and then a screen at the passenger's side, lower so no van-like high dash, and doing without the big central one... Or placing screens at the corners of the dash, where they could be less protruding...

Looks like the front lights of the new B-Class were a little bit inspired by the F800 front lights?! :)

Sleeping pill.

As uninteresting as the current one.

All my hopes for the lowly Benzes reside with the presumably "hot-hatch-like "A-Class.

I must say it looks guiet good. Not smth that'll make me hold breath, but still

Whatever.

I think MB is confused about something. What makes a car look good. Quirky accent lines, or a nice sculpted shaped for the body? Obviously MB is going with quirky lines. The basic shape is no different than a Toyota matrix from 10years ago. If they had flattened the hood, I think they'd have a much better looking vehicle. Otherwise the profile just screams, lame dork vehicle.
