Easy choice, CLS without a second thought. In this segment it is mostly about the design, and IMO the CLS is way more special to look at than the A7.

While I reckon the new CLS is probably Mercedes best design in recent years but I dislike the interior, very unadventurous. The A7 is something you need to see in the fresh to appreciate, externally I still think I would give the nod to the Merc but only slightly and internally I would chose the Audi without doubt.

Difficult decision, you can't go wrong with either.

I think Audi has the better front end and interior. But the rear is so shitty it negates all that and more.

Comparison of front end. I think Audi is by far the better here.

Comparison of profile. The rear of A7 completely screws the car up.

ps. And come on guys, if you are going to jump and make these comparison threads, try and be fair and post pics of cars with similar packages/color. Not one with sports package in dark color and one in a drab silver with nothing. In this case,the end result is not much different, but you still get my point.

I'm a big fan of the A7's exterior. But the interior just doesn't look like an Audi at all. I see more BMW in it than anything. And its completely abandoned Audi's form driven by function approach and now is just designed for designs sake. It's quite a mess of lines and shapes.

CLS all the way. The A7 is a more pure and cohesive design, but not as alluring and emotional at all, which of course is a love or hate it effect in itself.

The rear half of the A7 is just hideous and ruins the whole thing.

Interestingly, interior wise is where the CLS outclasses it by being more simple and classic, while the A7's is a huge mess of over-styling, Tim Burton-esque attempt approach. A7's interior looks more "exclusive" maybe, but not nearly as warm and inviting.

Easiest decision in a while. CLS. It's the king of its class - even the Gran Coupe will have its work cut out for it as the CLS remains the benchmark in this niche.
