I don't understand what they wrote, but it's kind of misleading information about the car. I wonder who are their sources..:eusa_thin
Maybe they should make a cross check with this forum first before they made the article, because we have many expert here. :D

Lamborghini has released an official "spy photo" — complete with camouflage — of its new V12 flagship just weeks ahead of the car's debut at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. Lamborghini still has not confirmed the name of the car, which replaces the Murcielago, but a leaked ordering guide earlier identified it as the Aventador LP700-4.

A representative for the automaker who provided a copy of the image to Inside Line confirmed that "Lamborghini's next V12 flagship model will make its world debut during the Geneva motor show on March 1," describing the car as "the Murcielago replacement in 'Tornado' camouflage."

According to the official order guide for the car, the Aventador will be bigger, quicker and more powerful than its predecessor.

The new LP700-4 is to be powered by a new 6.5-liter V12 driving all four wheels through a new seven-speed automated manual gearbox. The engine will deliver 690 horsepower and 509 pound-feet of torque.

According to the order guide, the car will rocket from rest to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds, with a projected top speed of 217 mph.

Fitted with a carbon-fiber tub, the car will measure 188 inches long, nearly 80 inches wide and 44 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 106 inches. Curb weight is 3,472 pounds.

Inside Line says: Don't be surprised to see a few more "spy" photos surface ahead of the Geneva auto show. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

Lamborghini Shows Off Aventador LP700-4’s Carbon Fiber Monocoque

Lamborghini is going to great lengths to reveal the technical details of its successor to the Murcielago supercar, the upcoming Aventador LP700-4. Already we’ve seen details about its new V-12 engine and Independent Shifting Rod (ISR) automated manual gearbox, its F1-inspired pushrod suspension and now, just a few weeks out from the car’s 2011 Geneva Motor Show debut, we have details on its carbon fiber composite monocoque.

The LP700-4 promises to be a technology-driven supercar, and one standout feature is its extensive use of carbon fiber in its construction. In fact, the central structure of the car is made entirely from carbon fiber and has been designed as a monocoque.

This load-bearing structure of the vehicle is engineered as a “single shell” that functions physically as one component, thus taking full advantage of the extreme rigidity of carbon fiber. Formula 1 race cars have been built using this technique for many years--and have proven their crash worthiness time and again.

Not only is this design very safe, it’s also very light. In this case, the LP700-4’s monocoque weighs in at just 324 pounds.

The monocoque is connected at the front and rear with rigid aluminum sub-frames, on which the suspension, engine and transmission are mounted. The entire body-in-white (the body with no moving parts, trim, powertrain or chassis components) of the new V-12 supercar weighs only 505 pounds and boasts a torsional rigidity of 35,000 Newton meters per degree of twist.

Lamborghini is also boasting about developing its carbon fiber components completely in-house. The automaker uses three main techniques for manufacturing the lightweight components: Resin Transfer Molding (RTM), Prepreg and Braiding. For more details on these processes, hit the next page for Lamborghini’s official explanation.

Dang.. those side air pods are so large, they could swallow a Chihuahua without a scratch!

..and those have to be the largest windshield wipers I have seen on a car!

This car is looking very promising. Maybe it will be a one-two punch to McLaren and Ferrari.

I mean, you can practically tell what the car is going to look like. Will it be much of a surprise once we finally see it?

What a delightful teaser. Lamborghini have given away hints that the interior is strongly influenced by the Estoque! Both cars share the exact same steering wheel design except that the one in the mule has bolder surfacing/creases. The video also gives a way a sloping center console design with brushed aluminium forming an embracing frame around the screen. At the top of the screen we can also see vents that look like Optimus Prime's eyes.

The Bugatti Veyron has a been the most expensive technology VAG has ever manufactured and I'm certain that the comfort levels in the Jota will be on a comparable level -- hence the plush interior. As the Veyron ages the Jota will likely serve a "poor man's" Veyron offering comparable performance, comfort, and reliability at a more feasible price. After all, the bugs production is scheduled to end rather soon so the risks of cannibalization will be low. The Jota will be the throne holder until the next Bugatti is ready.

Yep its estoquish..so are the headlights..
And possibly the rear lights..
And who can freakin complain..the estoque is just pure SEX!!!

That is a very nice interior. Wonder how much of an influence Audi had over that.

I wished the Lamborghini design team to do the design and then hand everything over to the Audi team. Combining the best of Italian design and German engineering and quality management.
