XJ 2010 Jaguar XJ Series (Spy pics & info)

The Jaguar XJ is a series of mid-size/full-size luxury cars produced from 1968 to 2019. It was produced across four basic platform generations (debuting in 1968, 1986, 2003, and 2009) with various updated derivatives of each. From 1970, it was Jaguar's flagship four-door model. The original model was the last Jaguar saloon to have been designed under the leadership of Sir William Lyons, the company's founder, and the model has been featured in countless media and high-profile appearances.
What really matter is how the diesels and V8 cars (non R and AMG) cars stack up against the Germans. Jaguar could really come back now. The XF was/is a minor hit and the XK is a constant favorite with drop top crowd. All that is missing is the big cat. I'd like to see a true RWD, smaller Jaguar to tackle the 3-Series/C-Class/A4/IS/G market, but oh well that has to be done right and I doubt that type of money will be spent now.

Yea, Jaguar might be scared to do that now after the X-type lesson.

Of course one based on the new kittys (XF, XK and XJ) would be nice.

I think it might be a viable threat, but I think that S65 will be safe on its perch. I just don't see the Jag making more than 738 lb.-ft. of torque. No doubt high-end XJ will be a force to be reckoned with on the road, but its approach is more finesse whereas the S65 is sheer brutality.

I think that the S65 will remain in rarified air - in price and engine performance; neither BMW (as a brand) nor Audi (as a brand) offer truly comparable models.

Jaguar made a smart choice several years ago in focusing on aluminum construction, and have recently shown a renewed interest in handling with the XFR.

If the new XJ with the 510 hp AJIII engine has an active differential, it will probably be a compelling match for the S63,not to mention the other "alternative choices" like the S8 and Quattroporte.

It will be longer than the current car, but it will have a "coupé" shape like the current XF.

I'm tired of seeing Ian Callum blabber on and on about this car. Let's see the damned thing already!!!

Patience! Of what we can see of the interior it looks very modern and sophisticated, especially when you think of the rather 90's interior of the current XJ. I'm pretty excited to see this car. I know it's going to be something special. I'm most interested to see the exterior and wheel colors(!).

So many juicy debuts coming up....XJ, SLS, Bentley etc. I hope they don't all hit on the same day or even during the same week.
