This is the most important car to be launched in Australia this year, it is a do or die car for Ford Australia, with sales of the current Falcon at all time low, this new model has to be absolutely right to save Ford. As a massive falcon fan, these very accurate CGI are giving me some hope.

This is much better than the CGI on the cover of the current Wheels Magazine.

Thanks for the post monster :usa7uh:

I have extremely high hopes for this car. I just hope Ford don't do a Holden with the whole Australia 1 Germany 0... The interior of the Falcon already looks miles better then that in the Commodore and it's only a spyshot. I Hope this car is taken well within the market as it may be the last locally made Falcon if it fails! I think what Ford really needs to do is make the base model extremely good looking and not bland like previous offerings by both Ford and Holden. The base model is the largest selling model by far so if Ford can cripple Holdens market share in this segment, the new Falcon will be a success.

That blue CGI looks fabulous. It's a real car design! Not Holdens butch attempt that I think looks terrible from certain angles.

The FPV also look like they will be a massive hit as long as Ford get the engines and dynamics right!!! They matchd the BMW X5 with the Territory. It would be an amazing effort if they matched the 5 series with the Falcon!!!

No problem, it was your idea anyway. :D

The interior is looking good so far, very european, and I hope Ford really improves on the build quality both in and out, otherwise people will simply go for a Toyota. Even die-hard fans will eventually get sick of bringing the car back to service again and again. Ford really needs to attract more buyers from the private sector as their fleet sales are getting less and less thanks to the new wave of well engineered, economical medium sized Japanese cars which cost around the same price. The killer blow is that not only are these japanese cars cheaper to run and maintain, their resale value is much better than a Commodore or a Falcon, this is one of the major factors why the majority private sector prefer import cars over the local product. Ford really needs a dam good car, and a dam good pricing strategy.

The basics are there, their V8 engine is relatively up to date, at least they have DOHC and 4 valve per cylinder. It is still a mystry why Ford hasn't been able to extract more power from it, and improve its drivability. It is unacceptable for them to have the flagship GT outperformed and out handled by the lighter F6 Typhoon range. The dynamics are a bit more difficult to fix because the car is based on the old platform, the engineers cannot reduce the front overhang and shift the engine further back into the car, or lowering the engine. The current V8 sits pretty high within the engine bay, and this has cause some handling balancing issue. I hope the chassis engineers can do something about the inherent problems.

Looking very good, it has the right balance between sports and luxury, if only the front grill has a less conservative design, it will be even more attractive.

Can't see the photos, might have to reload them again.

Thanks for the heads up. Unfortunetly the images have been removed from the host site. They consisted of a side on shot of a barely distguished Falcon in a nice red colour.

Overall, Looking very good!!!

I think pictures of the new Falcon are released at the end of the week. Personally I cannot wait!!!

:t-cheers:

I am going to have a day of sports and bbq on sunday as well, out of all days, why did Ford chose a sunday to launch their car...

Check out this spy pics, you can clearly see the big fog lights and the double circular headlights hiding underneath. I bet the teaser shot is of this XR8.
