F1 2007 Turkish Grand Prix

Formula 1 news, races, teams, drivers, technology, strategy, and discussion.
Great 1-2 victory for Ferrari, very lucky podium for Alonso, good racing from Nick and disappointing 8-th for Kubica. His strategy did not work very well. We can see also good progress from Renault, great performance from Kovalainen and usual disappointment for Fisichella. Great race. :t-cheers:
fully agreed.

i was quite surprised to see the Renault's pace today.

I hear ya, Chonkoa. Without the internal bickering about hiring a certain overrated Finnish driver, a 7-time WDC might still be No. 1 at Ferrari. I don't think he'd be trailing Hamy by 15+ points. Then again, I don't think Senna or Prost would trail Hamy either if they drove the current Mclaren!

Personally, I think Massa has been the better driver this year and not just in terms of value for money. He has had a few inexplicable races and still leads overpaid Kimi. That's why I think Ferrari should not allow Kimi to trade wins with him this late in the season. Ferrari needs 1-2s, but not 1-2s where Kimi wins one and Massa wins the next one. That would just hand the title to TOUI.

If Kimi wins Monza ahead of Massa, I think it's bad news because I'd expect that his car breaking streak will show itself again the race after his Italian win.

Don't you think Ferrari cares more about the constructors title than driver?

I am hoping they do care about both. It is hard to see winning one without the other.
For them to be in the position of deciding which driver to give the nod to win the WDC, they first of all need to be in control of the Constructors championship.
