C-Class 2007 MB C-Class... Con't Thread 2

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.
Love huckfeldts impression.. but i hope the rear is better lookin than that..

The rear bumper is a bit wrong on both ends, it doesn't look like they will curve up that much on the real thing and it wont look as flat.

I think Huck has nailed everything but the new ML.

I am really liking what I am seeing. The car looks much thicker than the current C. The spy photos show the back end doesn't droop as much as Huck's renderings, which is good.

The dual exhaust look nice. Wide grill is awesome.Fender flares look much more natural than the ones in the S or ML.

Hey TennMB, haven't seen you around for a while. Hope things are cool.

Yeah, from those WCF pics, I reckon it'll turn out well, too. Sure, it's not earth-shatteringly different from either the current C or the W221, but it's a sedan and that's not surprising. I'll see when the camo really comes off and then judge whether the overall car looks good, regardless of what it might bear similarity to.

I just hope the rear doesn't stick up in the air too much, which I have thought is too pronounced in the W203 right now.

yes! the new S, he got that so so correct...well except the rear body strips, but i will never forget the silver w221 photoshop of his on a mountain road with the big rims and exact front! and that was 1 year before launch! lol
are any more new mercedes going to get body strips? or is it just the s-class?

Hmm...It looks nice so far, but it really looks like a baby S-class AGAIN. I would have wished they would have given it more of an original design. But again the final photos aren't out so I won't be so quick to judge.

I think that after all these years MB would be scared to make a "radical" looking C-class that had it's own original styling rather than a toned down version of the S-class's design. It works well w/ the younger crowd that wishes he or she could have an S and can't afford one, so why get the mini, albeit slightly sportier looking carbon copy of the S-class? It works.:t-cheers: Even though many of us don't like it.:t-banghea

How about this? I can't believe it! It's like a spyshot miracle

I saw that too earlier today on GCF. It really looks like the German Caddy CTS. Not liking it. My prediction is that the B8 A4 will win for looks out of all the midsized luxury sport competition.

2007 Geneva Motor Show? That's a year from now.
The car doesn't have that much camo on it anymore.

The new spyshots don't show much. You can see the shape of the headlights from earlier spyshots. I want to see the interior and the back. I'm betting that the taillights will get body strips like the W221. Every other Mercedes follows the styling of the S

I've read from one credible source that the Command III (from W221) like system will be incorporated, while another says it wont and describes where and how the display unit will be located. So for now I think it's up in the air as-far-as whether there will be a central controller.

Engine lineup I've gathered thus far:
C200 CDI ?? guess 150hp
C220 CDI 204hp
C320 CDI 231hp
C180t 150hp
C200t 190hp
C350 292hp

C55 400-410hp
C63 ?? Doubtful

C230 210hp
C280 ?? guess 245hp
C350 272hp

C47 ?? wishfull thinking 400-420hp

Edit: Anyone know if North America will be recieving CGI?

I don't think that there will be a C55 given the fact that V8 used in the current C55 is at the end of it's production cycle. It's based on the V8 used in 500 spec models, which is being replaced by the new V8 in the new S550. I think that we could see a C63 but tuned to what HP figure I'm not sure. I would love to see it have the same HP rating as the CLK63, which I guess could be possible given the fact that the next RS4 is going to have more than 420 hp, maybe 450 hp? So the point is that maybe by the time that a supposed C63 rolls around, it may be appropriate to have 475ish hp.

Those virutally undisguised front end spy pics look great...here's some more including an interior pic where you cant see anything apart from an S class type steering wheel.

wow thnx for that man.. this car will looks damn nice im sure .. cant wait..
the front seems very sporty..
a little worried abt the rear.. but i think it will be fine in the end..

Don't the head-lights look like the ones on the old Opel Astra? To me, in the first pic they sure do...

the more I'm seeing those headlights, the more I'm thinking Renault
interior still heavy camo, but I'm thinking something simular to B-class ?

Looks like Huckfeldt pretty much nailed it with his predictions of the new C-Class! I just hope the rear doesn`t turn out like his ps.

Not so mini S class anymore I guess? From those next to nothing camo spy pics, I like it. Looks more original than in previous pics. On top of that I saw a new S class (first one being driven around by a regular person) and it looked not so bad, but I think the 7er looks better. Maybe it's with time that these cars spend out on the streets that allows you to warm up to their looks. We'll see. Nothing is ever set in stone, right? Plus, I'm more concerned about this cars reliability than it's looks.

The headlights on the new C look similar to the ones on the new CL.

I see no DIRECT SELECT shifter in the interior shot, but this might be a manual.
