C-Class 2007 MB C-Class... Con't Thread 2

The Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a series of compact executive cars produced by Mercedes-Benz Group AG. Introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-Class was the smallest model in the marque's line-up until the W168 A-Class arrived in 1997.

Mercedes are in DESPERATE need of the new C and facelifted E. That Audi managed to so clearly outsell MB in the first month of 06 despite a much smaller product range says a lot about the dire state the company is in.

But not only do they need the new C ASAP, it better be damned good at that!

Yeah that is sort of troubling isn't it? For some reason every year Mercedes has a terrible January, especially in the U.S. They went from over 31,000 sales in Dec 05 to 12,000 in Jan 06'. Now some of this is of course because all the special lease deals are pulled for the new year, but still. That is like a 1/3 of the volume from a month prior!

Fear not Edmunds say that the new C will be show at Paris in Sept:

I can nearly see the real shape in this pic, its a baby S-Class again it seems.

Writeup and Video

Talk about pouding around the 'Ring. The wheels are off the ground in some turns!

Yeah, they do need it desperately, but i'm sure that waiting so long for a new C will pay well, i'm sure they'll make a hell of a one.

Loooks like we'll see the car at the end of this year, much the same as we saw the new S at the end of last year. It also looks as if the design will be quite different from that of what we see on the S. Take for instance the tailamps, which on the S they're more hushed and subtle, here more emphasis has been placed upon them given their larger size and unique trapezoidal shape.

I was actually looking at the almost undisguised shape of the lights and not the engine lol. You can clearly see the shape of the front lights....not that you didnt know what they were going to look like...

I'm really anticipating this car, it looks like it's shaping up to be a solid package especially the engine line up. A 300hp C-class sport sounds tasty.

The side profile looks a little generic and boxy, not to mention absolutely tiny! I'm hoping that when more camo comes off, the design starts to come together a little better.

from the side profile the greenhouse seems too big. the greenhouse looks identical to the current model....

Well, you really can't tell much being it that's a photo and not a car rolling around in front of you. From the looks of the side prof. I think it has a lot of simliarties to the W221, for instance the sloping rear and trapezoidal shaped roof line, as well as the head and taillights. They said they were not going to make it a mini S-class but it doesn't really look like much else?

Its a mini S-Class all over again. I wanted something different, but as with the new CL I'll wait until that all important first press release with the official pics.

Indeed - a mini S-class again.
