CLS-Class (C219) 2007 CLS Class

The C219 Mercedes-Benz CLS-Class is the first generation of the CLS-Class range of four-door coupé which features a fastback body style. It is succeeded by the CLS-Class (C218). Production: December 2003 – August 2010
Do you think they'll ever come with a 2 door version of it? Cabrio perhaps?

I suppose the doors would have to be really big...
I am still not sure about this car. I dont know if I like it or hate it. The thread is confusing and the car itself is confusing me......I'm just not sure.

Thanks i feel like i can talk again... :D

As for the '07 CLS. a 420 CDI would be the best version for this car imo. Its very small inside and doesnt suit my needs. Perhaps two door was the way to go, but hey people like it, so i guess its okay. As for a cabrio... well.... Might look good. but it would be too much with the CLK out there...

Facelift would probably be subtle. I agree with Artist there!!! :t-cheers:

I don't see the 420CDI making it's way into the CLS. I mean does the E-class even have that engine in Europe? I thought it was only available in bigger classed cars like the GL and S.
I think a sportier diesel engine much like the one we saw in the Vision CLS is more likely.

Edit: I'm sensing a press release regarding the future of that engine after Merc's CGI petrol engines start production.

E class was the first to get the 420CDI.. no other car besides the E and GL has it yet..
Im wanna see a S420 CDI now thats on hell of a car..

:D It might carry over to the CLS... The S is a whole other thread entirely...

like i said before i think it will come to the CLS

I hope it doesn't. Diesel engines are very heavy, a smaller but almost as powerful unit would fit the CLS character much better.

well it has the 320 CDi so why not the 420 its new cant be much heavier.. i say make it.. it will be uber cool..:D

Yeh, but a diesel CLS would be ideal...

Heavy or not, people want to have the prestige, luxury, and amenities of a big body luxury car. Not everyone is a speed demon and needs 500hp under the hood. EX. S350, or S320 for that matter, so heavy it doesnt go anywhere, but it sold to those who wanted the body and not the power....
