Well I myself think the AMG kit does make a huge difference, but the standard car is good looking also, but yeah the AMG pack does make it look better. I don't think anyone is saying that AMG car doesn't look better, only that there is nothing wrong with the way the base car looks.

That's right -- It is possible to over-design sports-packages, AMG get it right, not over done. Mercedes image is conservative and tasteful -- if you want crazy mods then look elsewhere.

I always get the impression that Merc intentionally screws up its designs so the buyers are forced/guided to buy better looking AMG pakages...so they can profit even more...with the exception of the new S, all other recent MB front panels are simply horrible...

And, I don't know if this is the UK, but someone I know has just got a 520d fully loaded and they said you had to pay more on the insurance if you got the M kit!

Wow, that looks very nice. I'm glad to see the tapered C-Pillar of the current CL-Class remains. The back end; hmm...give me a while. It seems a bit, droopy?

I do love the large side crease and the wheelarches though. Looks very agressive.

The overall design works a lot better than the S class IMO. The rear lights are not as pretty as I would like ..but I have got used to them over the weeks and months that we have been obsessing over this car -- I think this vehicle is going to be very well received.

yep.. i think the rear lights will show their class when they are on..
cause the arrangement of the signals in the unit is pretty hot..

This is hardly a 6er competitior. BMW dont have a car in this segment.
Please dont make this thread a BMW vs MB debate

BTW the profile looks good but rear and particulary the front need more time for me

I like this design quite a lot. The roof extends shapely, making a very good looking silhouette. But I have to say, they definitely need more inspiration with the rims. With the AMG package it's gonna look fantastic.

Same here. I love the front and side, but the rear... it is not horrible, but not great either. Maybe it's the pics/angle.
