*2007 CL Class Pics and Info Thread 4 Cont'd*

Those ps jobs are not bad, that aside I agree about wcf getting sloppy with
detailed information. Thay don`t even try to be reasonable, a 6.3liter V12 with 600hp? Maby thay are really talking about the S63`s 600hp bi-turbo V8,
who knows.

I'm not sure if these have already been posted ...but anyway

It's about time AMG re-invents its designs...the way M did (sort of) with the 5 series... has it been 6 years, or more?...I think they need to come up with something new...it's plain boring....

I don't think AMG styling is boring in any way. It makes MB cars look sportier but bery tasteful and elegant at the same time. M isn't exactly that dramatic either.

I agree that it makes 'em sportier...but I think it's time for some next level thing...

M designs are simply unique...AMG can't compete with that...

Well it ain't like AMG styling isn't unique either.:D M styling has a different appeal than M styling but I get your point. It would be that bad if AMG slapped us with something new but somehow I can't blame them, their current styling is very slick and flawless. If ain't broke, don't fix it.

look at the S65 it has diffrent styling..
personally i love the AMG styling.. gives the MB´s alot more dynamic look..

PS
I like the M styling to.. but its not like its super unique..and totally diffrent..

i love the AMG styling ,look at the S 550 with AMG kit , it makes the regular S 550 look a bit dated and too simple ...

here's a comparison on the current s 65 amg and the new s 65 amg

The AMG package is almost a must for me, because the cars look 10 times better than their stock version. It brings more aggressivity to the cars but in a really slick way.

Yeah sure, that is why you can get the same styling on any old BMW by ordering the M package or whatever in Europe. M designs are no more unique than AMG's. They start with the basic car and work the front/rear panels and side sills and poof(!) there you have a Motorsport/AMG car. The one that really goes all out and makes more changes to the basic design is Audi. Their RS cars especially. The RS4 doesn't look like a A4 2.0t with a bodykit. I can get a E-Class or 5-Series dressed in the same gear as the AMG or M version, that isn't unique.

That said I agree a change would be nice. I suggested years ago that AMG go back to making wider fenders (not the S-Class style wheel "arches" either) like Mercedes did 10+ years ago with the E500. That car you knew instantly what it was because of the wider track/stance and bulging fenders front and rear. AMG could do that with a car like the E/CLS, but not the S since it already has those arches.

That's right -- It is possible to over-design sports-packages, AMG get it right, not over done. Mercedes image is conservative and tasteful -- if you want crazy mods then look elsewhere.

Well I still think it looks good without the AMG kit -- less fussy and more conservative -- which isn't always a bad thing.

I would disagree with you guys that the S class looks as good with the AMG kit as it does without out!

I think this is the same for the 5er, I used to think the car looked awesome without the M kit, but once it came out, I think now the 5er is a must with the M kit, it lacks aggression without it!

I think for most buyers, they won't notice the difference, but for me these sports kits add a little something to the design, and brings out the best in the design!
