F1 2007 British GP

Formula 1 news, races, teams, drivers, technology, strategy, and discussion.
Hamilton is doing all that he needs to win the title. Even when his car is not perfect, he is either finishing ahead of his chief rival or minimizing damage.

I agree, but it doesn't season over Hamy WDC. I said it before that the season isn't over, and now Ferrari have the upper hand (or is it strategy ?! :eusa_thin :t-hands: ).

Kimi has taken 8 pts. out of Hamilton, but he's still 18 down. Is this the real Kimi Raikkonen? Even if it is, I'm not convinced that he's better than Massa.

Actually 10-6 is 4.
The real Kimi and Alonso will only be seen in 2008.

One thing is don't get is why Kimi looks so depressed 24/7. Everytime the camera shows his face gives the impression that his pet has died or that his car has broken down. The same goes for Alonso who looks sour and unhappy. Look at all the damn people cheering for them, gives something back to the fans. Smile a bit like Hamilton.

another dissapointing race for hamilton , he looked like he wasnt satisfied even if he did say that he was happy. if u give hamilton a compatitive car he is the winner , but watching him driving he was clearly struggling with the balance of the car.

btw IE , in 2008 u will see the true hamilton too:usa7uh:

i was raikkinen fan in the past , and that is sooo true , even when he wins his impresions are still the same , well i understand alonso situation but kimi?

Kimi also took 4 from Hamy at Magny Cours so he has eaten 8 pts. in two races. I wish he took eight from him at Silverstone, but he didn't.

450SEL,

I didn't get to see the race because I was on the road. What happened to Massa?
It's good to know that Kimi won.

British GP: Watching from the stands

Interesting to watch the race from a grandstand with a distant screen and no radio.
No radio was a crucial error in my race strategy - I missed the fact that Kimi had taken on so much fuel at his second stop, which was the most critical part of the race, and it took a text from someone in front of a telly to tell me what was going on.
I thought Alonso had it in the bag. Not so.
Seeing Kimi, my favourite driver in F1 by a mile, doing lap after lap extra over Alonso was a great pleasure.
That second stint from Kimi showed his true class - for me, despite Hamilton's undoubted brilliance and Massa's raw energy, Kimi and Fernando are the best drivers out there right now. They showed it today - Alonso in the first stint, Kimi in the second.
I don't think we've ever seen such determination from the Finn, and it looks like Ferrari has found some extra pace. What a great season it's turning out to be.
How will Hamilton's first proper rookie's error affect the rest of his season? Probably not much - he'll be back at full strength next weekend, just wait and see.
But ultimately, it'll take him a year or two to get up to Kimi and Fernando's level. I hope he doesn't bust himself up too much over this single mistake.

was a great race. if Massa had not stalled, def. a 1-2 for Ferrari. i'm happy Kimi is back. the next race will be a great one.

I've forgot to add my comment...:eusa_doh:

Well, 1st of all i have to give props to Massa, now that was some driving, the guy was simply amazing. For me, the driver of the day. After him, Robert Kubica; after all what happened to guy in last month (let's not forget that crash) he drove a great race, wouldn't let Massa to pass him, focused, concentrated and 4th place in the end.:eusa_clap:eusa_clap Polish Power! :D Huh, Mr. Bartek and Martin? I'm sure you guys are very proud of him.:usa7uh:

For the others, nice to see Kimi back on track and the crazy Ferrari tactics, they simply rule in that! Sad to see Hamilton behind Alonso, i was hopping for him to win or 2nd place, but sadly it didn't happen. There are more races to go and there will be time to score more points than Alonso and to continue to lead the DC.

:t-cheers:

Massa did well. But this was a speed circuit with plenty of overtaking oportunities, unlike that crapy Magny Cours.

Good to see the old guard doing well.

I never got around to making my comment!

It was a great race, Massa did very well to make it to 5th, but Kubica did well to keep him behind in the much faster Ferrari. Kimi looks like he's got the Ferrari as he wants it, second win in a row, this championship is going to be very interesting. The Mclaren is now slower than the Ferrari, hence the reason why Alonso came second. I think it was a bad idea for Hamilton to go low on fuel for quali, he got the pole sure, and the crowds loved it, but I wonder if he did that just to please the fans, it sure didn't help him in the race. Heidfeld did well to came back after qualifying 9th.

As I was at the race, it made it even more special, the only thing is during the race I didn't really have a clue what was happening, because I was trying to listen on the radio, but the cars were so loud I couldn't hear it. The was over very quickly as well!

Some of the circuit are narrow and don't allow overtaking (unless it's wet). Magny Cours, Monaco are just some examples.
I wouldn't put Magny Cours on that list because there is one rather good spot to overtake as we saw last week. Monaco, Imola, Hungary are the worst IMO.

Imola is out, as is Magny Cours.
Monaco and/or Hunagaroring can be fun, but only on the wet with the currect cars/tires.

Was in Switzerland at the time of the race so I couldn't watch it. Listened to it on Radio Liechtenstein though.

Very happy for Kimi and I hope he can keep it up and challenge for the title.
