Yep, Alonso is definitely having a hard time with Hamilton. BTW, great driving!:eusa_clap

OMG what a qualification!!! That was really intense. Overall it was Hamilton's most competitive qualification yet. He was slightly weak in Q1, Q2 and Q3, where is was standing steadily at 4th place........................until he at the last seconds of the Q3 chocked everyone and stole the stole pole position.

What a performance. The whole audience stood up and screamed their lungs of, and I did the same. Damn it got cut throat at the end. The way Hamilton was driving during the qualification I really didn't believe that he would be able to prevail at the last minute. It made him look as the hero.

Beside being crucial for him to win the race I believe the qualification meant a lot to him. He looked a little shaken after jumping out of the car which is pretty understandable. His world wide fame is exploding, the British press are over exposing him, he is the leader in this season so far and the competition is getting fierce as hell.

Tomorrows race is going to be mad and in the coming races Hamilton skills are really going to be tested.

I think Ferrari is faster over a long run, but Hamilton can control the race from pole. Looks like another podium for Hamilton.

I disagree that the competition is getting fierce because he has a big enough lead that he doesn't need to win. No one has ever come back from 15+ pts. down at the midpoint of a season.

^^
Ferrari are indeed very strong and this during qualification Mclaren had to give all they had to keep up. Hamilton will indeed control the race from pole and will win the race if takes of at Mach 5 during first two laps leaving the other three competitors fighting against each other.

Mclaren had a pretty weak strategy last weekend and they better not mess it up this time. Hamilton does have a good lead but one mistake leading to a non podium finish is enough to make his father start sweating. He lead isn't big enough for him to relax.

Mclaren's strategy last weekend was intended to keep Hamy out of traffic and it did. I think the team just used it as an excuse to explain why they lost by a half-minute. They weren't fast enough at Magny Cours, but they look to be on the pace here.

Sure, a racing driver doesn't relax until his lead is insurmountable, but the title race is looking almost over.

I am now skeptical of a Ferrari 1-2 with Mclaren's performance today.
Well, will see the race strategy shifting the balance to Ferrari- who knows.

I was never as optimistic about a Maranello 1-2 as you, Chonkoa. I think our dream result is definitely unlikely. However, I did have a dream last night about the Mclarens crashing . . . into each other. Before the Monaco GP, I had a dream about Massa passing every car on the track, but Massa was on roller skates.

Don't forget to take many more pictures tomorrow:)

Don't worry I will, I'm ready with my new 4gb SD card!

I have also taken loads of videos, will put them on youtube later!

The qualifying session was great to watch, and like all sessions, every time Hamilton went past, everyone cheered him on. As soon as everyone found out he was on pole, they all jumped up, and yelled!

i did the same thing but at home :D

Kimi, and Alonso, so the old guard still has it. :t-cheers:

McMerc again kind of blew it on the strategy. BMW a solid 3rd.

cool race..kimi did well.. as did alonso.. given the not so perfect car..
glad that hamilton got a podium finish and can remain on top..
this just sets for an awesomme season..

Great race, and just like I said yesterday it would be really tough for either drivers. Massa did a great performance and the Mclaren boys were lucky Massa's car broke down at the start, otherwise he would have probably finished second.

Hamilton's third place is off course superb, after all he is only a rookie. Like we saw yesterday Ferrari were considerably stronger through out qualification and Hamilton had to give all he had to take the pole. Ferrari's main strength was in the straights where absolutely no other team could match them this weekend. the Mclaren boys had to brake later and gamble a lot in order to keep up. Lastly it is nice to see Kimi fighting at the top again.

Hamilton is doing all that he needs to win the title. Even when his car is not perfect, he is either finishing ahead of his chief rival or minimizing damage.

Kimi has taken 8 pts. out of Hamilton, but he's still 18 down. Is this the real Kimi Raikkonen? Even if it is, I'm not convinced that he's better than Massa.

Kudos to Kimi... finally living up to his expectations, and I guess Ferrari can't fire him anymore :)!

Although I must say tha tthe driver of the day was Massa... he was driving like a nutbag! :usa7uh:
