I doubt it, BMW USA has a no 4-cylinder belief in place right now and they'd hardly drop the 128i so soon.

It's bad enough that some "BMW fans" I know claim that "A 4-cylinder BMW is not real a BMW." <--- Morons.
A friend of mine here thinks that way. And he's German too! I mean he should have grown up with 316i's etc. Some people...![]()
It would be a first for a car in this segment. In fact, I can't think of a single example of a current petrol engined car that uses a sequential turbocharging arrangement. A two-litre engine can easily make 240 PS with a single small turbocharger whilst retaining a good measure of low-rev linearity with a twin-scroll layout.Martin, then what about 123d that has a TT?

Schaweet! You're welcome.Got it! Thanks, bro!

Of course, what I've said is purely an educated guess.

Who knows - maybe BMW wows us with a twin-turbo arrangement (in whichever guise) that would signify a landmark event in mass-market cars.

While I agree that BMW did make some wonderful 4 cylinders in the past, that was in the past.
The trend towards four-cylinder engines has just begun.
I happen to own the latest 4-cylinder engine from BMW and the engine is magnficent (120i). Very fuel efficient and strong at low rpm even for N/A and the engine also like to be reeved all the way up to 7000 rpm without hesitation.
Stop living in the past Warot, there is absolutly no wrong with my car.
