i3 First Spyshots Ever: BMW i3

The BMW i3 is an electric car that was manufactured by BMW from 2013 to 2022. The i3 was BMW's first mass-produced zero emissions vehicle and was launched as part of BMW's electric vehicle BMW i sub-brand. It is a B-segment, high-roof hatchback with an electric powertrain. It uses rear-wheel drive via a single-speed transmission and an underfloor lithium-ion battery pack with an optional range-extending petrol engine.

Hey check that out.. it's still got the shark-fin! Strange though since the test photos of the i8 don't include the fin.

Other than that, the overall shape looks similar to what we've seen Toyota do a number of times with the high-set headlights and the 'wheels at the corner' layout.

How much has this i3 (and the entire BMWi movement) been an evolution of the original BMW E1 from 1991 ?

Hmmm, the camo is so extreme I am not going to make a final judgement, of course. BUT, the proportions are totally different from what I initially expected. With all the camo on, the car doesn´t look too different from anything else on its segment. Something that didn´t happened with the F10 5er, for example, which was clearly different from its competitors since the very beginning.

With or without camo, you can tell what the overall shape is going to be unless they attach a whole other half to this...thing.

Of course, this is not BMW, per se, but their other brand, so I guess they can do this and be as radical as they want, but geesh, this thing looks like a cramped up Smart car.

The car in these photographs is the first stage of BMWi and the much lauded i3. The MegaCity Vehicle model.
This car is the ICV - Intra-City Vehicle, a 3dr model with seating four passengers.
The five door variant will be known as UCV Urban Commuter Vehicle and will feature five drs with the rear doors being rear-hinged like a MINI Clubman and allowing a five seat configuration.

The launch of BMWi will take place at this years IAA in Frankfurt to signify it's built in Germany headline.
In which a special display will herald the launch of the new sub-brand within the BMW Hall. The Mega City Vehicle i3 will also be shown as a Concept Car @ Frankfurt.

What about the white car? Looks a bit too low to be a X6. Then there's ofc a ceed and a X5. Sweet looking car BTW, cute :D
//Oh yep, definately a X6.

BMWs Fiat Multipla from what I'm seeing. Maybe after that the Multipla wouldn't look that bad... :eusa_doh:

I hope it will cost 1cent/month to drive otherwise it won't compensate the looks :D It will definitely look interesting... but ugly!

looks like a retard, for now at least.
looks like some Jap K-car (is that what you call those small little jap cars?), and i think they are very fuel efficient on their own without any efficient dynamics stuff.. 1L engine, a few hundred kgs, what's the difference.

BMW fanboys need to wake up. The much applauded i3 is an uglier Toyota IQ. God those pillars in the front side windows are ugly !!
