E-Class W212 Mercedes W212 E-Class Facelift: Renders, Spyshots, Etc

The W212 and S212 Mercedes-Benz E-Class series is the fourth generation of the E-Class range of executive cars which was produced by Mercedes-Benz between 2009 and 2016 as the successor to the W211 E-Class. The body styles of the range are either four-door sedan/saloon (W212) or a five-door estate/wagon (S212).

The interior is an improvement. Front doesnt look as good as the pre-facelift. And the rear still looks like a car from Korea or some other asian country.

Have we gone back to the peanut-era headlights? It seems like a bit of a regression in terms of themes. They should have kept the angular theme and found a way to subtly update it. I can't even with the pig snout grille right now. The rear looks the best because they hardly changed it!

Those photos don't look right, but I have no fear because I liked the camouflaged prototypes and very important, the model captured in Spain without camo. These photos are looking like cgis. Let s wait for the real deal.

A member over at enthusiast site GermanCarForum.com has seemingly stumbled upon a few images of the revised Mercedes-Benz E-Class for the 2014 model year. While we've had hints about what this face-lifted E will look like, in the form of spy shots, this is our first ever look at the uncamouflaged car.

HURRY!!! let´s writte that site an email saying we have our copyright and they should delete of the info regarding our page. Oh damm, that is only performed by some dirty bimmer blogs LOL.

This is a much needed update to the pre fl model probably except from the new headlights i was a huge fan of the quadlight design and always admired the W212 because it was the only Benz that retained them but the new ones look stunning, glad to see that the nav screen isnt too small as well

I hate when designers respond to questions stating the obvious. No shit the lights are new and the ponton fenders gone. We want to know WHY! Why has Mercedes felt the need to banish these cues mid lifecyle? Why did the ponton fenders only have a lifespan of 4 years on the sedan? Why has the four eyed face been banished after close to 2 decade? What the hell is going on at Mercedes design?

What makes no sense to me from the article is the traditional grill not being offered in the UK. This is a big mistake. Both grills should be offered in all markets.

In yesterday's photo the sports grill looked appalling. In today's photo it is looking very good. I think it will take a little time to adjust, but in the long run will be a positive move for the E. It is simply too staid next to the A6.

That silver E right at the bottom is looking very promising. I can't wait to see more photos. I hope Mercedes pulls this transformation off. If they do, along with the new S, their sedan line up will be stellar.

I seriously feel like I need more pictures. That silver one, like Mr.Merc had said, looks really interesting. I really like how the rear lights look now, and the interior is obviously an improvement. FL with classic grille is really what the car needs IMO. Again, not too sure about the sports grille yet.

The E is supposed to be a limousine. Why does it need to be a faux sports car now ?

I actually quite like the facelift with the classic grill. I think its very 'S'

On the whole, the facelift looks stunning. The emphasis on 3D shapes in this design is really surprising.

Except for the sports grille, which looks worse than aftermarket grilles and is just plain vulgar and comical.

Btw, did anyone notice the little protrusion at the bottom of the classic grille? The one at the very bottom below the distronic cover.

Seriously one of the ugliest fronts I've seen on a Merc. Talk about annihilating the stateliness and commanding presence of this car in one fell swoop. That grille looks so soft and plain you'd think it came off of a PREVIOUS GEN B-blass. The bumper? If that's the new AMG Sports Pack then like SKY said, it is a BAD JOKE. It looks like what you'd expect from Mazda or something. Very childish, no definition, no aggression, not sharp, just a few overly rounded holes and a very generic "silver bar" that almost every Asian car (and apparently French car) is using now.

It can't be so hard, M-B. Just give us the magic again.

BTW, look at the headlights shape, it's like the W220 with nu-LED's that look so warped and cluttered they just distract. Talk about recycling! I'm seeing M-B trying to turn back to the late 90's idioms of round and soft.... not good for an M-B.

So what will the ricer do when the E-Class by default comes with an ugly ass logo in the grill. I'm sorry but that E-Class estate looks ghastly.
